Atmospheric Dump-valve

ok, this ones been confusing me for a while.

My Supra has an atmospheric Dump Valve on it, alot of the supras that I see around or have seen on videos on here dont (unless they are really quiet)...

I know that with MR2s its quite bad for them and can make the fuel economy go through the roof.. is it the same with supras?

Should I change the atmospheric for a re-circulating one?
