SOLD

My Supra is going up for sale, basically because I never use it and it just sits in my garage feeling sorry for its self. It's been sat in my garage now for over two years, but I pop out and start it up every month or so. So its time for someone else to enjoy it!

Its a J-spec Twin Turbo auto in Black, stock bodywork with aftermarket (stock size) wheels being the only visual modification.

Its showing (if I remember correctly) just over 100k miles, but obviously a handfull of those were in kms which it got before it was imported.

I'm the second owner in the UK and have owned it for over 5 years now. The first owner had it for around 2 or 3 years I believe and it has been very well looked after.

Modifications are as follows...

Stage 3 Hybrid turbo's
Full Blitz NUR Spec R exhaust
Both CAT's removed (still have them for MOT purpose)
HKS Type S front mount intercooler
Blitz blow-off valve
HKS panel filter in stock box
Speed de-limiter (allowing it to go over 112mph)
Fuel Cut defencer
Race Logic Traction Control (Superb piece of kit - Full adjustable traction control)
Autometer boost guage
Autometer EGT gauge (mounted, but needs connecting up)
Bilstein struts with lowering springs
Optional Toyota factory side skirts fitted
Silver dials (still have original black ones)
UK Limited Slip Diff fitted
Cusco Strut brace

Following Parts Supplied, but not yet installed:

*Apexi S-AFC Fuel controller (to be installed)
*Walbro high flow fuel pump (to be installed)
*550cc injectors (to be installed)
*Blitz boost controller (to be installed)

It's not currently MOT'd as I dont ever drive it, but it should only need the rear disks fitting (supplied) and a pair of rear tyres.

It will also have a new battery fitted by the time it sells.

I will not accept offers of part exchange or anything else, it is being sold as I no longer drive it, and I no longer need a car

bloody hell that is a bargain...whats going on with these prices

If I MOT'd it, I'd be asking for alot more. I'd like to get around £8+ for it really, but I dont want it up for sale for months and months, and to be honest I cant be arsed with it anymore, its been sat in my garage for a few years now, I just pop out every now and then to start it up.

My passion for bikes has hit hard again and I'm afraid I've lost interest in cars! I've held off selling it for a couple of years thinking I might drive it again, but I've finally accepted I'm never going to.

I'm also hoping to move house soon and I want as much room for my bikes and workshop equipment as possible.

I suppose I'm after a quick sale hence the price, but I'm not going to take a daft offer like some seem to have gone for recently!!

If I MOT'd it, I'd be asking for alot more.

Why is that? Are you expecting it to fail? only costs £40 ish for an MOT you might get what you want for it then.

£1000 extra after an MOT!!! Hmmm

Barry
22-10-07, 19:37
Car's are worth alot more with MOT's. It should sell easy enough at the price its set at now, buyers prefer a car with an MOT, so I could easily get a higher price with one.

Viewing is more than welcome, I can assure you there is nothing wrong with it.

It's priced to sell.

Oh god, um, I might be able to dig out a few pics. I measured and built it all myself about 4 years ago now.

Pioneer 12" Subs
Kenwood components in front doors
Cant remember what I put in the back seat bits?!
1 Kenwood 4 chan amp running the door speakers and rear seat speakers
1 Kenwood Mono running both subs in parrallel I think?

Sounds f**king amazing and will blow your ears off.

Found a couple of pics.

Box has to be a funny shape as there is a step just behind the rear seat. Its just big enough for the two subs, I think I calculated it to within 2 square inches!

I still have all the original boot lining and bits if the buyer want to remove it all.

Also, the original cover still fits over it all and hides it all if need be.

The last pic also shows the dash (silver dials).

if only I had the money I would buy it back. I loved that car.

Anybody want to buy my t-61 UK spec 6sp?

I think it was about 3 years. I would have bought it in 1999 and I have had my UK spec for nearly 5 years.

Thanks for the pics, looks stunning mate. If the buyer doesn't want the install i'll take it off you :p

No Spare now then? Ideally i would want to keep the spare.

Was actually thinking about those low profile subs.

Anyone had a go of them?

Cheers

Just had a look at the log book, you registered it May 99, I brought it from you in March 02, which is when I first registered here.

You can have first refusal if you like! ;)

I would need to sell my UK spec 6sp before I could entertain changing cars. Im working in London now so I have to sell my runabout MR2 as well. So very little chance of me being able to afford it.

No, but I do still have the spare in the garage, and I probably could have kept it in there if I'd been a little more creative with the box. :d

I was working in Milton Keynes for a while so changed to an MR2 auto as a runabout. Great little car. Only want £1,200 for it...

Working just south of London Bridge, but we have 7 locations across London so I travel about a bit.

I work in London, so go by train into work, if I need to use a car in the evening or at weekends I have the wife's car to use.

The Supra was only really ever a toy for evenings and weekends, but now I have 2 motorbikes as my hobby, which is why I've not used the car for 2 or 3 years.

Its been sat in my garage doing sweet FA for all that time. There is just no point in me keeping it anymore.

Branners

I do hope your office isnt the one right next to ours. We have lost thousands due to the building work going on. Builders banging away all day long.

Mawbs, if you buy the MR2 back I might be able to afford it ;)

What spec is the MR2 as I know someone who may be intrested.

Barry
22-10-07, 21:27
No, no building work going on now, it was all completed around this time last year. We were the first company in there back in Jan this year.

Number 77.

I'm trying to think where the building work is going on, can only think of the site next the the One Tun pub on the hill down to Farringdon?

If the Legacy had sold then I would do. After a month of Auto trader adverts all I got for my money was scam emails and companies wanting more cash to sell my car for me.

I think I'll be keeping the Legacy now so my new Supra can stay safely tucked up under it's car cover during winter. :)

I sure Barry wont mind me chatting on his for sale thread.

Its an MR2 G-Limited Auto in black. Rev 2 I believe with the removable roof panels. J reg.

Mawbs had a for sale thread a while back for it which lists all the good and bad points. Let see if I can find it.

bad time of year to be selling, its winter and nobody wants a powerful rwd car. Combined with the fuel costs its probably not a good time. Sell it around March/April time and it might be better.

Oh well, just have to wait I guess!

MOT it !!!

Barry
02-11-07, 17:36
Thats the whole point of it being this price, I cant be arsed!

If I do MOT it, the price will rise to the normal price for the year and spec.

Just saving myself the hastle of sorting it out, but it would seem no one wants a Supra at a very low price.

Barry would you buy a car off eBay with no MOT? - 7k might be cheap for a decent car but from the buyers perspective, 7k might be expensive if it costs 10k to get it back on the road. - Just my opinion

Barry
13-11-07, 12:30
I've brought several off ebay with no MOT's. MOT's dont really tell you anything about the car. It could have been thrashed to within 1 inch of its life and still have an mot, or like mine, be a sound car and not have an MOT. I've also brought a car off ebay with 12 months T&T that was a bucket of s**t!

For its last MOT it needed a sidelight bulb (59p). For this one, as mentioned, it needs two new rear tyres and probably the rear disks reaplcing (although maybe not), which I have. Simelar spec and year models seem to be up for around £7500-£8k.

Its up for 'alot' less than £7k too. ;)

If I MOT it will you pay 8k for it? Or knock a few grand off and take it as it is and buy new rear tyres for a couple of hundred? ;)

Its very cheap for a car of this year and spec, and the lack of MOT is reflected in the reserve price.

Barry
22-11-07, 11:36
£6k ovno takes it away.

This is open for 1 week only, then it will be up for sale again next year with 12 months MOT for £8k, which is the average price for a Supra of this year and spec.

Am I mad!? Yes, but I've seen a bike I want ;)

Sorry!

By selling it now is going to save me around £250 a month (Credit card ballance is now £0 and I can stop leasing the garage it was in).

Its also paid off the overdraft and got me a nice Ducati 916.

Its been quite an expensive ornament for the past 3 years!! :(
