I expect this is a re-post. Not found anything...

Just got the normal Max power e-mail.

Its got loads of info on it, One bit of info says this,

Tommy Banh has recorded the fastest ever standing mile for a street car at this year’s legendary Texas mile.

From the pic I'd say that was a mad supra, Massive turbo. 3.7Litre engine.

Can't do much due to internet policy here at work.

I can forward the e-mail to anyone if interested.

Held on the runways of a small regional airport in Goliad, Texas every October, the legendary event simply involves a standing mile with a set of speed traps at the end. The fastest speed recorded wins.

His awesome street-legal 3.4 litre, GT4718 turbo, was clocked at 228.7 mph

Final Results:

1. Tommy Banh Toyota Supra - 228.7 mph

2. SVS TT Viper - 223 mph

3. Ray Hoffman Heffner TT Ford GT - 222.2 mph

4. Eddie Bello 993 Porsche - 219 mph

5. Gary Javo Heffner TT GTS Viper - 212 mph

6. Kelly Martin Heffner TT SRT-10 Viper - 205 mph

But I doubt you'd class Keiths spec in the same 'street class' that Supra is running in.

why not?? from the looks of the supra it looks like it has light weight seats and no other interior and its got a parachute so its hardly a street car?

i know keith ran his car in for 2000 miles on the road ;) and its a road legal car :)

dont get me wrong its a mental car, i love it when the turbo kicks in in second and just spins the wheels :D

Maybe its down to the tyres you can use. I'm pretty sure there are more differences between the two machines than you'd like to think.

dont get me wrong, keiths car may not be street legal anymore, the last time i spoke to him was ages ago :)

but to qualify for the 0-300-0 record he just did it needed to be a street car ;)
