Scottish Supra Tuning

Ello, hopefully getting a supra this week and over the next few months i have a few plans which will require an expert. Are there any dedicated Supra enthusiast tuners near the Glasgow area?

Just curious as i am looking at getting the following done...

EGT Gauge fitting

AFR Gauge fitting

Larger Injectors (don't want it running lean)

Possibly an Emanage Setup or something similar to look after the larger injectors

Mapping & RR

The car i am looking at is BPU and running approx 400bhp according to current owner and backed up by current mods (I think). I would just rather be safe than sorry to be honest as i plan to have the car for quite some time (been wanting a sup for about 8 years lol) and i don't want something to happen that could be avoided.

I'm not looking for any more power, not just now anyway, i have been reading threads all over the forum and it seems that i will be on the verge of maxing out the injectors.

Any info would be greately appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah the place in Motherwell/Wishaw is called the garage. Been there with the MR2. Not really Supra Specialists though but they are local to me if thats all i have. The only reservation i have with them was that they seemed to be happy as long as my car was running and not really interested on how well it was running if you get what i mean. Just seems you have to be a mechanic to get a mechanic to listen to you lol.

I've never been to AVA and i haven't heard much about them. One of my mates took his car up there but only for a power run. Are they well established mappers?

TBH i don't mind driving down to England as long as the service i get is worth it. I'm not loaded but i don't want to skimp on my car :D

Thanks for the link and the quick reply Todd. Having a look now

Cheers

Yeah they really know their skylines. I was really happy with their work too and the guys were really nice. I'll expand what happened a little....

When i got the car back it was running like a rocket (just got de-cat). Everything was great until about 2 days later when it was very apprehensive on boost. Of course i called them right up and the guy went on about fuel cut. Now, i knew what fuel cut was.. i knew what it felt like and i knew this wasn't it yet the guy kept telling me thats what it was. Took the car in, low and behold a pipe wasn't into my dump valve and no.3 ignition lead had came loose. I was running on 3 bloody cylinders. I panicked and got a compression test and got the all clear but it was a close one. The best of it was one of the guys on the MR2 OC said to me to check the ignition leads but i was already on my way over to the garage potentially causing more damage.

I don't blame them for what happened as it did run fine for a couple of days but i didn't like how they weren't prepared to listen to me when i, as the owner, know the car inside and out and was telling them it wasn't the FCD.

I can't pinpoint exactly what it is i'm thinking, i just want someone with a passion for the car to be working on it and not see it as just another piece of metal on wheels like most garages do. Granted if you take a 600bhp monster in they will be all over it and looking after every detail but take in a modestly modified car and its just another day at the office.

Its just me i guess.

Ava is right beside me but i hear good stuff about thegarage .

You're always going to hear good and bad stuff about garages. I use The Garage in Wishaw and have always been happy with it despite hearing several "second hand" bad reports. I've heard a lot worse about AVA though, directly from the people involved.

Won't be doing it for quite some time but i reckon when i will be i will go to the Garage.

I keep hearing bad stories but again, its 3rd party info. I had a chat with the owner and he seems really cool.

Definitely the place to go with Skylines. No Supra garages anywhere near though which is a shame.
