Well as i am no longer selling i have decied the soop will be a track / fun car.

So far i have decided on nothing extreme or unchangeable ;)

- stripping the car of all non important parts

- Fitment of new stock front and rear control arms + diff mounts

- lightweight bucket seat.

- smaller steering wheel non blingy suede affair type.

- Different pad compound (stock at the mo)

- tanabe exhaust (the quiet one)

possible changes for later on:

- Carbon fibre tailgate possibly with lexan screen.

- Battery relocation

The aim is to shift around 120 kg's

Is there anything else people think i should sort at the early stage to ensure reliability / safety.

Sounds good! I am considering the same thing, but with some other "twists".

Some other things to consider:

wheels

suspension

brakes

unsprung weight

I would go for lighter in the front of the car, to try and get the front rear weight balance a lot better.

What about a rollcage? Then removing a load of crash bars in the doors, behind the dash...

Good luck!! Lots of work ahead!

Cheers, i enjoy the stripping it part :D

The major changes to the suspension are the brand new oem arms to replace the old tired stuff, the bilstein dampers are only 4000 miles old so they will do for now.

The brakes are uk spec, i think i am going to overhaul them before going at it on track :D

Full geo setup (ala ChrisW) would be good. Braided brake lines, decent fluid and some good pads.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun!! I am giving serious consideration to doing this to mine if it does not sell in the next month or so...

Lines are already braided ;) cw will be fitting the suspension parts and will certainly be doing the geo too :)

I will have to set up a contingency fund for pads and tyres etc :p
