lexsum
When did the advice on timing belts change from mileage (every 60k i think.) to mileage or age? or has it always been this? I have a 95 UK with 33k miles and my garage bloke says toyota recommend the belt be change after 10 years. Should i be worried that it has not been changed? Supra-Brett
id like some advice on this one also. Ive just checked under the bonnet and the little sticker says that mine was changed on 15/10/03 which is about 15,000miles ago. I thought it would be more like every 3 years not 10 years. Mines a J spec N/A. When exactly should it be changed ?
Chris Wilson
I'd certainly be changing a ten year old belt if it was my car, none interference engine or not. You can check for oil pump seal and cam shaft seal leaks at the same time, change the tensioner pulleys and the water pump, and go to bed and sleep more soundly, albeit with a less lumpy mattress
Guest Rash
60k or 6 years whichever comes 1st i think...
