My tyres are set at 34psi front and back but i noticed inside the door that they should be 36psi. Is this true? I tried blowing them up to 36 but could not get more than 35.5

What do most people on here with UK 17s use?

Couldn't get more than 35.5? You blowing the air in yourself? :p

34 should be fine though.

I used 36 psi. 34 would be ok tho.

I have found 32psi rear and 34psi front gives a good uniform tread wear. That is on UK rims on a JDM car.

Remember.. UK specs are carying so much more LARD about, so maybe higher PSI is required? :conf:

I cant see what going by manufacturer recommended values is going to do any harm. Thats what the car was built to use.. use them :)

I agree Bob, but I know others who have run at 36 all round and have experienced centre tread problems. My tread wear is much better since I dropped a few pounds in pressure.

The extra 80KG’s of lard may have something to do with it on UK specks.

It's really dependant on the weight of the car, the way you drive etc etc.
If you want to do a professional job, enflate them to say 32 psi, go out for a "typical" drive. Once your done get a multimeter with a themocouple and check the temps of 3-4 placed accross the width of the tyre. If it's a lot hotter on the outsides of the tyre than the inside, enflate them some more, if it's hotter in the centre, then let some air out.
Please bear in mind that's only applicable if your not running any camber. Obviously if your running some camber on the wheel then one side will run hotter than the other.
As you guys well know with the supra it's possible to really mess about with the suspension, and seeing as very little people know the exact setup of their particular car, I would probably ill advise a generic tyre pressure. Mind you saying that 32psi 34 psi. Probably won't make that much odds anyway. My girlfriend has been driving around with 15 psi in one of her golf's tyre's I found out day before last. She had no ideas at all. When I sorted it she said "oohh the steerings much lighter no" You don't say. Not pleased.:twak:

Hope that's confussed the matter somewhat :p
