Does anyone know where i can get a dipped beam bulb for a J Spec ?

I went to halfords who advised that it was a 9005 part number. Gor home tried to fit and guess what, it wouldent fit all was OK appart from it had 2 grooves inside the fitting and the old one had one groove. Went back, they said there computer was wrong and it was actually a 9006 that i needed, i checked it and it looked OK as it only had one groove. Got, home guess what, doesnt fit. This time the circular seal bit just behind the bulb was too large. Went back and thought sod it and got my money back.

Next i went to the local Euro car parks store, they usually have everything, but they didnt have one either. Went to Toyota main dealer, service was crap and eventually he told me that they didnt have them either. The last one they sold was in 2004. They can order one in, but it will take 2 weeks and cost £20.

I did a quick search on here and i think that the one i need is a 9006J. Is this correct ?

Any ideas where i can get one ?

I'm looking at a philips bright one right now. Only used a couple of times before I changed to HD's. It's a 9006 so I'm confused you are having issues.

the full code is

HB4 PR 12V 51W

9006 PR 12V 55W DOT

I could post this to you tomorrow if you cover the package and postage mate

Thanks everyone. I admit that i did chucle when reading the thread that Harvard posted. It was an almost identicle nightmare to the one i had.

Only one question. Who is Mr T (i know hes in the A team, but its obviously not him).

If i cant get hold of him i will get the 9005 bulb and trim to fit which is what i was thinking i would have to do as a last resort.

Cheers everyone for the help.
