View Full Version : Where are we going next Month?
Lets get the ball rolling on this discussion now, as we need to sort out a definitive venue. What ever we decide on though we need to sort out a more central venue that’s accessible to all. My prediction for Monday came true; there was only two people from further south of the venue that turned up!
JAP NW are back at mascrat. I wont try and plug it though, we all know the place has a great atmosphere, plenty of different jap cars, its accessible and has good food :innocent::D
Anyway, i would suggest the following:
1. If the decision is that we dont go to mascrat, then a different date should be proposed to allow those that do want to attend have the option of both
2. what ever venue we choose should be more central to all members and have decent parking facilities which are well lit.

I'm still up for the mascrat personally. I think its a great place for a meet. and like you said Matt, its all the other cars to look at as well. The mascrat has everything you could want. Food, lighting and spacious.
The thing with the cops just makes me feel like i'm biting my nose off to spite my face sort of thing.

Someone needs to go on the pub hunt.

I was never there when the cops turned up as i was on holiday at the time, which is a shame cos then i could probably understand more about peoples feelings towards the venue. But at the end of the day mascrat isnt going to go into liquidation if the supras dont turn up and if it offers everything we need then no need to hold a grudge. I would suggest that JAP NW must have at least spoken to the management about the situation that arose 2 months back and feel satisfied that everything is honkey dorey for them to return?

Yea i agree, I dont think 15 - 20 supras is gonna put a dent in the takings. Its only us lot that are protesting against it but we are actually losing out as we dont have a place to call our home.
After all we do dominate the mascrat:D

On review my comment was a little harsh hence why i edited it. I 100% agree with you that the date for the supra only meet should be changed to give people the option of going should they wish.

So does anyone know of the tavern on hunger hill, just before westhoughton. It has a massive car park, nice pub, not to sure on the lighting though. Its also 2 seconds off the moterway.
Alan999 mentioned it a while ago but nothing was said about it.

As Mike said ^^^!! I'm free most evenings so it doesn't bother me when it is! I will also not be going back to Mascrat in the near future! Next summer possibly but I couldn't be arsed with it towards the end anyway!!:blink:

what about the Harvester on Atherleigh Way (from the east lancs rd. The Lowton to Atherton bypass) huge car park, well lit and bloody good food, its on a retail park and even has a drive through KFC for the tight wads who wont pay for a harvester :p:p
(oh and a couple of shops that may sell "gay" t-shirts)

I've missed the past couple because Monday’s are work meeting nights for me unfortunately (sorry Matt) but i won't be missing the next one that’s for sure ;) I agree that the monthly supra meet should be different day to mascrat so people have the choice. I disagree with what Mascrat did 100% but the way i see it, i was using them for the free car parking and use of the toilets. I only bought things on a rare occasion :) They'd be lucky if they got a glass of coke out of me... I'll probably go back because i have friends with different jap cars that go and it's nice to catch up, but i won't be buying anything on principal.. :devil:
Anyway.... What's next then?.. Is it the Blackpool run or is there a mini-meet before hand?

Or without upsetting people - and to try and keep the balance - anywhere further North, we are at the southern edge of the North west catchment are as it is. There are a lot of members around Lancaster who felt that Mascrat was too far south long ago. :search: If Mascrat is still an option then it only seems right that any other event is further to the North.

Well i think the plan is too have two meets, one at Mascrat on the second monday of the month as per tradition and then the second....ummmmmm... somwhere at some time ;)

That's pretty much the size of it. My apologies for being a little tardy in suggesting anywhere else for the second meet. I've been snowed under at work. So let's see what happens.

FFS, the whole thread has been about trying to find somewhere in the middle ground!!
Has anyone got a map of the NW area catchment zone, then we can just stick a pin in the middle and go to the closet venue to that?!

Actually Matt if you factor in people like Paul Mac some of them are coming from junc 37 M6 plus its a bloody long way to the motorway in some cases. TBH i don't think that you will ever please everyone! I just think that a "GOOD" place should be found somewhere ish in the middle even if that was Junction 28 (Leyland/Preston) or Junction 23. I think that people will still come especially when we start coming back into spring and summer (whatever they are)
So go on why don't we start suggesting :)
It will be interesting to see who turns up at Mascrat on Monday :)

Why dont you alternate between one venue further south towards manchester one month and another further north the next, then everyone gets a fair crack. Even though peeps only get to meet once every couple of months at least its fair??:search:
tbh, most 'regions' covered by our club have the same problems. I know Midlands stretches over a wide east/west swathe so if your in a far corner its difficult :(:cry: But then it depends how much you want to meet up with your supra mates ;)

When we where at the pancake place yesterday the general consensus seemed to be warrington as a central point.
Does anyone know anywhere around Warrington that would be suitable???
If not it's not that far from us, we can go and have a scout around for somewhere.;)

I agree - however is the reason that Eddie never comes because the meet is too far away?
