Fujitsu Siemens monitor drivers

I have a problem with my PC monitor. I have like horizontal wiobbly lines, like refresh lines on it.

They were on my old CRT monitor too but i just assumed that since i have a speaker next to it it was that.

So i bought a larger TFT monitor and they remain :( I have visited the Fujitsu Siemens website, and looked for a driver but it says

Solution:
There is no driver needed for Fujitsu Siemens Computers displays.
Please install the monitor as a "Plug & Play"- monitor.




Which is what the settings on the PC say. It is set at 60hz and offers no other option :(

I know nothing about pc's but maybe something up with your graphics card?

Just noticed its only really apparent when darker colours are displayed on the monitor

IE when forum is displayed, which is white background its ok, when i look at pictures of dark cars etc it appears to 'wobble'

Yep.. you don't need drivers for a modern (or any even) monitor. All a monitor's driver does is tell the system what resolution and refresh rates the monitor supports. For the past decade or so all monitors have supported DCC which is a serial data link through the VGA cable in which the monitor tells the computer what resolutions it supports. So drivers are no longer necessary.

I have seen symptoms similar to what you are describing in some (faulty? or just cheap implementation?) video cards. The onboard Intel 8xx chipset of my little file server has a very noisy output.

Its that little PC you sold me aaaages ago :D

Im wondering if the GFX card has a fault but i doubt it.....

However, just tried connecting it to my laptop, and that has NO flicker at all, so something is amiss.

Well, similar thing I suppose. It's on-board graphics again. Although a totally different chipset. This one of mine is a Intel thingy, and that's an AMD Athlon 64 with nVidia chipset if I remember correctly.

Hmmm. You could try moving some cables inside the case. It's all quite tight inside there and it's definitely noise/interference of some kind, unless it's smoothing capacitors going wrong or something electronicy like that.
