I havent been looking for jobs but ive applied for one in last weeks purely because it caught my eye, good career prospects, MCP training + qualifications and also paid little more but the money wasnt the main point as it isnt much.
Anyway get pulled into by support Manager (im supervisor) and asked he had heard rumours, so I said yes its true I applied for 1 but im not actively looking. Well he said the CEO had heard and thats how he knew :faint:
Anyway I've got people wanting to have meetings with me about it all now :( They say they dont want to lose me so whats wrong how can they sort it etc....
But im more worried about just being booted out, though I dont think Id have any problem getting a job and im not too proud to take a job say cleaning the floor if I had too. Any ideas anyone, anyone been through this?
Get them to beg, give you a new car, nice office and selection of secretarys :eyebrows:

If they'd wanted you gone, they probably wouldn't have said anything.
Sounds like you blabbed James.
You can't be booted out, so don't worry about that. No empolyer is going to risk a tribunal for unfair dismissal for something like that. Letting slip you're looking around is a good way to get a pay rise, move into other areas if you want to, get more training etc. Assuming they want to keep you of course! ;)

Your employer can't stop you looking or applying for other jobs. Its none of their business really! So I doubt you'll get shouted at. They'll probably ask you if you're happy in your current position and how you want to improve or what you want to improve. Also they may take this oppertunity to give you a better offer/pay rise :D
God luck!

Go in calm and relaxed, polite and friendly. You havent done anything to be worried about. When asked why, lay it out like you did above...its natural to want to further your career, those that dont, wont.
Good luck, I hope it works out and you get a nice rise:d
