Chiefgroover
Yesterday I spotted an old mate who had just bought a blue 575 it's a 2002. I had to have a spin, o boy was I curious. The first thing that baffled me was the switch layout. Electric window switches top middle of dash? and the handbrake has the weirdest operation I have seen yet - and place bewteen the drivers seat and the door. Clutch was heavy but not unbearable, engagement very smooth and when you let it out the torque was amazing! V12 instant grunt at all revs. Its also the first Ferrari I liked the driving position of, I actually got pretty snug in the tan leather seats. It steers very nicely, brakes well too, and dips the rear nicely when you floor it. The sound is great as you'd expect, but quite a bit quieter than I was expecting. The car was so much nicer to drive than any previous Ferrari I have driven, and it had the engine in the proper end! that I really did like. OK te 575 vs the Supra. IMO.........the 575 is a great car, but.....the Supra feels so much more "natural" everything falls nicely into place at the better driving position of the Supra, mine is nicer to drive in traffic, they both look great, but I prefer the Supra, the ferrari wins on sound, big power etc, unless the supra is single, the Supra seats are nicer to sit in, and the wow factor in the busy street - the ferrari wins if your into that sort of thing. Really can say it made me want to sell the supra to get one! Hopefully I'll get another spin in it today, see if i can get the ferrari bug? but for now the Supra still my preferred choice. The more I drive other cars - so called exotics, the more i appreciate the wonderful design of the Supra.
