Chris and Alana
I'm wanting to change my diff fluid soon and was wondering if Halfords 75w90 gear oil (part synthetic) would be fine to use. They dont seem to sell a fully synthetic version but it's only £6.99/litre I'm sure it's going to be better than whats in there seen as I dont know when it was last changed and it's probably going to be filthy. Mike M
I've got the thicker 80w Castrol stuff from Halfords in mine, the old stuff looked pretty bad with loads of crap on the magnetic sump plug.
Chris and Alana
Is it ok to use a slightly thicker gear oil? if so I might just use the castrol stuff

edge
Oh, thought I better mention I have a TT auto (GZ) and to the best of my knowledge it has a LSD. you can check if it has LSD from the vin plate on offside inner wing just under bonnet. cant remember the number but it will come up if you do a search. maybe in the supra guides or tech section somewhere
