I felt the need to wash the car last night (about 9pm) in the dark as i'm working today and out tonight and wanted it looking clean for Santa Pod tomorrow.

The curtains were twitching and passers by were giving me strange looks. The wife thinks i've lost the plot too. :p

whats the latest you've got the bucket and sponge out ?

It's not quite as late as you Steve but I did mine at about 8.15pm last friday night as was going on the Pancake run on Saturday. Only thing was I was dodging rain showers too much to the amusement of my neighbours:blink:

Plenty of times if it's been absolutely tipping it down, I'll put on some shorts and a t-shirt and go out and clean the cars.

It even does a good job as the rain doesn't leave water marks afterwards. I did two cars in 10 minutes :)

And my neighbour couldn't have thought I was that mad, as he did the same thing next time it rained :D

I'm sure I read somewhere that washing a car in the rain is actually much better than in sunlight? Sounds valid.

Definitly is, I hate washing the Supra in the summer, when its really hot I wash it panel by panel starting on the roof and working down then around, otherwise by the time you get round the car is completely dry and gone all streaky.........

I have washed the car while its been raining before as well, it does help to wash off the suds.......

I'm always out tinkering and cleaning at all times of the day and evening etc. I think my girlfriend and neighbours have just got used to it now. Sometimes it IS necessary to clean the car even if it looks like rain, is raining or nearly pitch dark! Sometimes the results aren't exactly what I was expecting, which means I probably have to clean the car again anyway

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed, but during sunny days parked outside work we get little yellow spots on the cars, and I have to wipe the car over before I leave, cos I just can't stand it :Pling:

Well we thought that they're either pollen, bee shit, or maybe a chemical which has been launched into the air from a chinmey etc.

They've been analysed, and the report was that they were harmless, but not exactly what they were.

There's a bloke with an apiary in the allotment behind our industrial estate. We think its him and his confounded bees! ;)

Yeah it probably is that, but we get them from around February until end of November. A right pain I can tell you, especially on a black car!
