Whilst getting my Kakimoto exhaust to fit perfectly the other week I noitce what looked like a lamda sensor tucked by the side of where the 1st cat would probably of been. It came through the floor by the drivers footwell. There is no where for the sensor to go so someone has just tucked it out of the way.

I have now removed all the interier to sort out stereo and dye the carpet and have unpluged the sensor and removed it.

Is this ok or do I need to reconnect it and ideally have it in the exhaust system?

I think it is a cat temp sensor. When you decat it is tied out of the way anyway.

:yeahthat: I snipped mine off and used the hole for my WBO2 sensor.

Mine wasn't even secured, just tucked out of the way. I was worried that the ECU might detect that it is not fitted and throw a wobbler, but if it is ok I'll just leave it off and buy a rubber grommet to block up hole in floor.

What is a WBO2 sensor?

Wide-band oxygen sensor, for keeping an eye on your AFRs (air-fuel ratios) :)

It is a CAT temp sensor, you still need it connected ot you will get a check engine light and a fault code stored. Just tie it up out of the way somewhere :)
