I've been offered a company car next year.
I dont want the default Freelander.
Any news as to when the Lexus LFA is available ?

Does the huge tax hike still make company cars desirable? We were talk about it at work yesterday. The new idea is that people buy their own cars (within reason) and the company pays the running costs.

Defenders are cool. Especially the metalic blue, short wheelbase V8 ones with leather seats, massive wheels and stainless roll bars. I'd be happy with one of them.

Yup, its not a sensible option for me with the low miles I do. Its nice to have the offer but its pointless when I have my favorite car already. They already give me mileage allowance for company use on mine.
Meanwhile I've asked them to look into an LFA and let me know what I'm up against. I'll post the figures up if I get them, owt for a laugh:)

If they are offering a company car will they not give you cash allowance? I get the choice of both.

I'm aiming high Dave. Next price break down is an Aston V8:)
Seriously though, I've no idea how it all works yet.

Now that I would have!

I assume most companies are similar to mine. You get a choice of cars (which list you get depends on how important you are) or you get an equivalent cash allowance (again, how much depends on how important you are).

I take the cash allowance which is about £600 a month I think. And of course, I can still claim mileage for business miles on top of that (although the only business mileage I ever do is to Heathrow about twice a year). :D
