QUICK Question! (Swapping Head Unit)

Hi guys

Just in the middle of swapping my head unit and want to test that it is working before I connect everything back up really.

The instructions I have say the battery must be disconnected because of the air bag, so is it not safe to connect up the battery and test the head unit?

All done now. I disconnected it to be safe as the instructions said to do so. Its so fiddly getting the dash out but its all done OK now.

The only annoyance is that with my new head unit as soon as the ignition is started the aerial comes up no matter what setting you are on. Thinking about pulling it all out again and disconnecting the aerial

It's the same adapter for UK and Jap models.

Also, for future reference, you don't need to disconnect the battery when fitting a headunit. The only thing to be aware of is you need to plug back in the top strip containing the odo (there's three connectors I think) before turning on the ignition. If you don't, the airlight light will illuminate.

By doing this, you can test the headunit without having to put back all the rest of the dash.
