I've just come home from a night out. I was walking home( only a 5 minute walk). Halfway home on the other side of the road ,sat on a bench, is a younggirl, about 18 years old, girl crying her eyes out.I nearly walked by but I just couldn't do it. So I go over and see if she's ok.

So I walk over an sit down and ask if she's ok. She says she's fine but she's still crying. So I said are you sure is there anything I can do? I'm fine. she says but thank you for stopping and asking. So really at this point I've got no choice but to just leave her crying and go home.

The problem is I feel really bad just leaving her, Do you think i could have done any more?

Absolutely but it might not have been appropriate.

Some times when you're really upset you want to be alone. Maybe she is outside to get some peace. If thats the case you did the right thing leaving her be.

as long as she wasnt hurt you did the right thing. as robin said. sometimes you just need to be left alone. And you wouldn't want some jealous pissed up waker of a boyfriend having a go at you.

You did exactly what I would have done. Anything more might have been much riskier on your part!

This happened to my mate before. Stoped on the way home from the pub to check if a crying girl was ok. Next thing he gets attacked by a drunken boyfriend and spent the rest of the night having stitches put in his head.

Yes good on you for stopping.

Slightly off topic but I remember when my gran was alive she used to go and help mum at work, admin bits etc, one day she was walking to the shop and it was icy outside, she slipped and fell and hit her head. She got up but she had cut her face open and there was blood running down her face. Not a SINGLE person stopped, they just walked past. She walked to the shop alone and found mum.I couldn't believe it when I found out!!!!
