Getting there ....... I think

Well I started it today and its taken me 4 hours to get the Dash completely off, I dont think thats too bad going.

Things I've learnt;

the loom is bloody attached to the Dash everywhere, with screws facing towards the bulk head where you couldnt even get the smallest screwdriver, so i had to make my own makeshift tool

You cant remove the dash without the handbrake taken out

You can remove the dash and keep the steering column attached.

Next to assess if i think i can get to the actual heater matrix without the crash bar out. Though the crash bar looks easiest bit so far.

Pretty sure you might have to pull the crash bar...

Have you disconnected the matrix in the engine bay (yeah I forgot about that the first time as well)

No probs regarding the matrix its been disconnected for weeks

From taking a look I think thge aircon unit will just catch it as i remove it, Id like to do it without taking crash bar out though. Id rather take aircon into further bits, least then im only messing with one side of the car.

Ohh and while you replied Rob, thanks to everyone who offered to help, but to be honest after starting it, there just isnt enough room for two of you really. Expect posts for help soon, as I have no manual and im labelling and noting down the order of everything

Nice, Good effort. I'm sure its a slog stripping it just dont get too excited and try rebuilding it too fast. My downfall unfortunatly.

Scary!! lol, I wouldn't dare attempt that myself lol Fair play! I'd put it all back then realise i've missed loads or have spare bolts or something daft

Im stuck now, i cant get the big air con system off, but i think its coz i cant get the rubber hoses off on the engine bay side.

I hate the two orange connectors going to the heater controls behind the first panel. I always seem to mash my hand off something when they finally release their grip.

What a ball ache of a job that is.

Is there anything else you can do job wise while it is all in bits ?
