Just had a message off a guy from piston heads about my supra. He is claiming he is from the Channel islands, and is interested in the car but due to law or something over there, in order to be lent the money for the car they need the engine and chassis number. Sounds like a scam to me but thought id ask if anyone had heard of anything like this before.

Cheers in advance.

My first reaction would be that this is a bit fishy but I suppose the Channel Islands will have their own set of rules!

I would have thought that the reg no would have been sufficient!! Does he not need it for a HPi check in order to get the loan?

Has he given a landline phone number too?

H.

He has given me a land line yes, im gonna phone him tomorrow and chat in person about it

About what ? :D

Why do people put PM sent, why not just PM them...........

...and Mr. Wilson doesn't like PMs!

Hmmm.... the plot thickens.

The PM was just a contact detail of a friend he has over there that would be able to answer my question. Chris didnt want his friends details on the forum obviously.

Thats fine, Im not asking you to justify it, I was just saying, why dont people just PM the person, what relevance does it have to everyone else to post, PM sent, apart from making everyone think "I wonder what thats about then"......;)
