View Full Version : New Scottish Jap Club
Clan Japan
Due to the lack of Japanese car club activity on this side of the border and track days and ¼ mile meets being over-run with Vauxhalls, Peugeots, Renaults etc, Clan Japan has been established. It’s the same old story with many an owners’ club where the majority of the members are all from down south, meaning meets and track days in Scotland often result in a very poor turnout.
Clan Japan is a forum with an aim to bring together all Japanese car owners in Scotland through meets, track/rolling road days etc. To get things started and so everyone on the forum to put a face to the name, Clan Japan will be having its inaugural meet on 22nd September in Perth (times & location tbc). See http://clanjapan.freeforums.org/index.php for full details.
All Jap car owners are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!

There does not seem to be a Mkiv Supra section on their site, plus as per post above I do not get the impression they are trying to out do Mkivsupra.net but to try and bring the Jap community closer.
Surely it would be a personal choice to join this club or not, intervention from the mods would only be seen as "making our mind up for us".
Unless it is against club rules then, as you said Rob ask a Mod.
we tend to look at each of these sorts of requests on their own merits. Sometimes we prefer not to be associated with some clubs, sometimes we are happy for them to post up a link and sometimes its a trader trying to get business.
So we prefer it if they contact a moderator first to ask if its okay to post the link.

Apologies...................
I can understand your views on this, but we are only trying to promote a club which will unite a very small car community. The owners clubs will not suffer in anyway, we can't offer to the individual what an owners club can. I myself have an Rx7 and am a member of MRC and I will always use the site.
Just trying to get a Scottish Club for like minded jap car owners to get together without the normal intrusion of Boy Racers
With no experience of your forum we have no way of knowing if its full of chavs organising cruises at B&Q or people who are serious about their cars.
We like to have the opportunity to check what we are linking to before we let the link go on the forum, thats all.

I take your point, and understand fully your concerns.
Please take the time to look at the forum, whilst in it's early stages you can see we are not interested in the "Chav" element which ruins most car events. We also seek approval from the local police authorities prior to arranging any meets.
I have forward a message to a moderator and await the responce.
Thanks Again
btt - it's fine for this new Scottish Jap club to be advertised here :)
Cheers,
Brian.
Yea I have seen you there Brian and a few others. It should be good for more local meets it seems like a good little set up.
I'm a member on Clan Japan and I will still spend hours on this forum. We really need more meets up north and this is the ideal opportunity.
No ulterior motive. :)
Yep I'm on Clan Japan aswell purley for the fact its a Centered around where i live,so its going to make life easier to meet Jap Car minded people instead of me driving about a 600 mile round trip just to go to a Club meet.
But i will always be around the Dedicated Specalist Supra sites.:)
Plus its free :tumble:
