Strange question I know, but I was talking to a bodyshop and they said that summer months are usually a little slow, their busy months are September, October and November. Is this right ?

I suppose I would expect a small dip in accidents if you take out all the school runs during the summer holidays. Plus there is probably a small drop in total traffic volume over the summer with people being away on hols, but I'd be a little surprised if it made much difference.

Anyone know if this is true ???

Perhaps it's more attributed to the weather? :search:

Roads are generally quieter during the summer months whilst schools are off. RTC's then generally begin to increase during the Autumn term as more traffic on roads, and the position of the sun in the sky can also play a factor with visibility especially during peak periods. Also as the nights lengthen, the air and ground get colder creating microclimates under trees etc where pockets of black ice can linger.

However, the paradox is that during the winter term, roads are generally more grippier as they get a regular washdown from the elements clearing the roads of grime and grease and spillages whereas during the summer months where sometimes (if we are lucky) we get longer periods of drier weather leading to a build up of road grime on the surface and after a heavy downpour you often find the roads slippery as hell in Summer.

And I forgot, because the kids go back that means there are more women drivers on the road..... simple innit? :D ;)

Perhaps due to folk thinking they can race about in summer on the super grippy roads that are not that super grippy versus folk taking more care in winter.
