DannyB
Morning guys, quick question, can i safely run the car on 97Ron pertrol (sainsburys) as its "only" about 98p around my way. This wont harm then engine in anyway would it, i know the higher 99Ron is preferred but is it essential! (93 TT 6speed) Cheers All!
Kranz
The TT has knock control, so will adjust to any petrol put into it. 97 is ok, you just won't get quite as much performance as V-power or Tesco 99. You won't feel the difference though.
DannyB
Cheers mate! Save some pennys for a few weeks then back onto the good stuff! Thanks Danny Bell
garetheves
I always use Sainsburys 97 RON in mine and i find i get better performance and much better fuel consumption compared to V-Power or BP ultimate. Plus it is always far cheaper.

hoff
Does anyone know how much the differance actually ends up being? V-power etc is meant to be as economical as a 97 ron petrol as it lasts longer because it burns less. Thats what I heard anyway, is that true? dr_blackman
Never used Sainsburys as I never realised they did a 97ron fuel lol, might give some a go myself
