2 non fault accidents in 2 months !!!!!!!

I cant believe it, 1st of all a guy who lives down the road from me takes the bend too sharply in a rented van and hits the rear spat, smashing it and damaging the rear bumper, i wasnt even in the car, it was parked up and i was at work so he managed to hit a stationary car !!. It is booked into the garage on the 17th of this month to be fixed (luckily, after a bit of arguing i pursuaded the 3rd party insurer to allow me to get it fixed at the local porche/classy car repairer, which costs more than twice as much as most back street repairers, but they definatley do a better job).

Then last night, im going down the road when a bike pulls out behind me. This particular road is one where cars all park down one side, which means that oncoming traffic has to cross over the white lines onto my side of the road to get past. Most of the time there is plenty of room for 2 cars to pass but last night some nugget decided to come really far onto my side of the road so i had to stop and let him past to avoid knocking wing mirrors. Bear in mind here, that i saw this coming miles off and slowed down well in advance and not sharply. Next thing i know, the bike who pulled out earlier hits the back of me. NIGHTMARE, the first lot of damage isnt even fixed yet so this i imagine will complicate things.

I get out of the car and the bloke is up and on his feet obviously OK as he talking to some pedestrians. First thing i do, now i know he`s OK, is to examine the damage. Then to add insult to injury, some cheeky cow passing by gives me a mouthful for daring to check the damage to the car and not be all nicey nicey to the biker.

Then the biker has the cheek to start mouthing off that its my fault cos all he was doing was 30 mph. I said thats the reason why he crashed, cos i had stopped and he was still moving DUhhh.

He was only a young fella and i was worried he wasnt insured so i called the cops who said they didnt need to turn up unless he stank of ale. Anyway he calls his mum who promtly brings his documents and all is in order luckly, and then she proceeds to tell him he is at fault, and he needs to shut up saying that i am.

Anyway, bad luck or what. He didnt do much additional damage just a few stratches, but now to the boot lid, which wasnt damaged before so that will need sorting, and of course the main thing was he was OK and not harmed at all, and i think the lesson to watch out and keep a suitable braking distance will stay with him for a while.

If the truths known i think he was probebly waiting for me to boot it to see if he could keep up on his crosser bike thing, but i wasnt going to boot it and he crashed so hopefully a lesson learned for him (without breaking his neck)

Apparently bad luck comes in 3s so im dreading whats next :taped:

That's the problem in a nutshell with the speed limit enforcement lot who focus on speed limits and not the safe speed for the conditions. It leads the nuggets on the road to believe that as long as they're under the posted limit the rest of their driving skills can go to Hell.

Good effort Mum! Not the usual behaviour anymore unfortunately.

At least it's largely cosmetic damage and you're getting top class work - it should look great once it's finished. :)

I know how you feel. I was on my carbon racer pedalling along at 25 mph. I'm approaching a group of school kids heading home and a lad decides to step out and cross the road. I shout look out. He turns round and freezes like a startled rabbit while I skid into his ghoolies. He falls flat on his back and grasp his nutsack preventing his sweetbread from rolling out of each trouser leg. I extract my £2.5K racer from the human bike rack and pick the kid off the road. He apologises for not looking. But then the Grange Hill rejects all round up on me and start blaming me for the eunuchfication of their mate. :aggress:Then the kid changes his tune and has a go at me.:sos: Fortunately I managed to make my escape before they stabbed or shot me.

Could be worse mate..I was doing 65mph down the M6 last month and hit standing water, smacked the barrier and wrote the car off.

It was fully modded to perfection too, I was gutted. And it's turning out to be a nightmare to find a replacement :(
