bmx1lew
my supra key has buttons on yet my mates does not, but when i press it nothing happen's,also on the drivers side of the dash there is a little dome, in the manual ( which is in japanese) there is a illiustrated picture of a man pointing the key at the door with what looks to be radio wave's coming from the key. does this mean my car has a alarm and i have a duff battery, its jus the key is very thin for a fob/key. lew
Ewen
Dashboard dome is for the climate control IIRR. Do you have an immobiliser ? In which case the original key functions wont work.
Guest Chumpalot
Ewen is correct, the dome is for the climate control and nothing to do with your alarm/central locking.

AdzC
I have the same key along with other 'valet' keys which only unlock the doors. When I got the car it had no security except for the remote central locking operated by this key. Since getting a cat 1 alarm and immobiliser this has been disconnected but can be enabled again if I decide to take the alarm off.
