Ark
Chaps, I finally fitted my HKS oil cooler last week, and can safely say that it'll drop oil temps by 15°C or so - 110°C at Silverstone, 126°C at Castle Coombe, with no other mods. HOWEVER, my installation is leaking, and I need to know how to stop it. Bizarrely there is oil coming out from just about every joint (these are aeroquip fittings) despite plenty of PTFE tape and nice tight fittings. Plus it seems to be leaking out from the take-off plate too...Annoying. So, has anyone got any advice on stopping the leaks? I'm deeply tempted to say 'sod it' and go back to stock! It has knocked my confidence in aeroquip fittings too - how can they be trusted for everything from water to fuel???
supradibbs
are the fittings not got a tapered thread as u should not need ptfe tape it could be that you are binding up on the tape before it is getting chance to form a seal i made up new lines for my hks cooler and not a leak in sight
Ark
Yes, they are tapered. I'll be pissed if it's that simple to fix!
