A few months ago I remember reading a thread about the stock BOV mod. I think it had some pictures and a step by step guide of how to mod your stock BOV so it vents to atmosphere. I've searched and searched but can't find it :innocent:

I'd like to read it again :D so, first one to find it gets a christmas card in 4 months time ;)

GO GO GO!!

Doesn't sound difficult - just disconnect the outlet pipe (the thicker one near the back of the engine) and put a cap over the feed-nipple back into the intake.

Trust me, I NEED pictures :D

That mentions it yeh, but theres no pictures...the link further down that pages shows a twin stock bov mod, not the one I'm after :(

Any reason why you want to do this, apart from to get the wooshing noise? I did this on my mates GT4 Celica and it sounded w@nk to be honest... its like someone opening a bottle of coke but the noise lasting several seconds, LOL :D

No reason in particular...just wanted to try it to see (or rather hear) the difference :)

So do you know where the thread is? :D I still can't find it :(

Luke, it's really very simple. I know you want engine bay pics but I think you should be able to figure it from this.

Your stock BOV has three connections to it - the small vacuum reference hose which controls the valve, the pressure side towards the front of the car, and the exhaust side pointing to the rear.

So to vent to atmosphere, you simply need to disconnect the exhaust side, this one:

Now, once you've pointed it outwards, it's important to block off where this pipe used to be connected. This is most commonly done with a simple makeshift bung that you can get from a hardware store - chair leg rubber ends and a hose clamp.

HTH,
