Boy Racers...

I have had my Supe for just over a month now but have only been on the orad (officially) :innocent: for a couple of days as I had to wait to get the car registered.

Anyway...

As today was the first day that the sun had been shining, I decided to take the missus (and the girlfiriend :D ) out for a drive.

After driving for about ten minutes; I had an Escort RS Turbo up my a*se trying to beckon me for a race.

What is wrong with these people. Isn't it obvious I would just blow him into the weeds.

I simply wound down my window and pretended to yawn

He soon backed off.

We drove around for a couple of hours and had three different boy racers trying to get me to race them.

Is it me or does this happen to most people???

I dont even waste the fuel, you get the boy racers in the golf gti's, clio 172's, corsas for f*ck sakes etc, I think if they can get you to bite then that makes them a worthy rival, but they're not, so I don't waste the fuel on them, I don't even raise so much as an eyebrow at them let alone my revs, they DO know you'd waste them, but I suppose it's so they can tell their friends that they "raced a Supra the other day" implying that they were a worthy rival, which means without saying that their car is as fast as a Supra and the Supra driver felt threatened by the mighty power of their 1.2i with an induction kit and jap style Ripspeed back box that they had to race them.

They want and crave the attention of the Jap supercars, whether it be supra, Skyline GTO etc, for the good of the Jap supercar fraternity, dont give them that pleasure, please, we don't want the supra to be looked upon as a chavs car. (as if)

They are chavs, let them race each other, don't lower yourselves and the name of the Supra, I know you think they all need showing whats what, but thats just it, they know their place, and if they don't, and they think they can actually rival a Supra in their 90-100bhp 'racers', then it's obvious that they know a lot less than they think, and look like fools.

I've had a few beers.

Rant over.

to be fair to the "chavs" some of them are just petrol heads like many on this forum, they know the supras reputation and just want to see a 3, 4, 5, 6 + hundred horse power car go for it, they know they will be beat, on the rair occasion i have humoured them when they catch up they have a grin from ear to ear and give the thumbs up, lets try to remember we were their age once (seems a very long time ago lol), their not all twats

Yeah we were all there once, they do like to see you 'go for it' or "send it" as they say round my neck of the woods, but I'm not in the habbit of entertaining chavs by 'going for it'.

When I was 'once there' I had a mk1 AW11 MR2, and there were no Supra's and if there were it was a rare sight and they'd be uk models, there were no skylines, GTO's, scooby's were yet to be popular, and my measly mk1 MR2 could easily fend off the rs turbos, xr3i's, xr2's etc, but the saphire cosworths and lancier delta integirales etc that were the equivalent fast cars of the day I just didn't bother with as I knew I'd get wasted badly, yet the boy racers of today want to race you (this makes them twats), that was not me, I knew my place.
