the 300zx chaps are having a meet up at hartside cafe if any of you fellas fancy it? :)
time is still to be confirmed...

was at jap north east yesterday and there was about 7 supras. can we not get a local meet going to get more supras together???

Problem is a lot of the Supra's in the NE are not members on here they are either JNE or Japtuner

tried it last year and only 1 club member turned up and that was hulse, driving the dreams house got screwed so he didnt turn up and we seen 2 other supras drive past without even a second look at us

I've never been to a meet yet, sadly. Thinks its to do with being embarrassed about possibly having an inferior car. I am contemplating selling but would love to go to a meet in Newcastle somewhere?
I think there is a pub/restaurant called the 'wheatsheaf' just outside the airport with a substantial car park.
I dont know if that would be viable?
Maybe close enough to get the Envy Supe there?

Dont get me wrong its in top notch condition, but its an n/a, and you know how they are thought of on this forum. I've done it up as much as i can other than throw silly money at it, which i dont have.
But after reading the JAE threads would love to go to a meet. More for my son who loves anything fast especially Supras.

Tom organised a meet there before and it was really good...the only problem now in that area is that theres a lot of no car zones down the key and along the gateshead side of the baltic etc,so might be a bit of a mare for some people to get to.

I seem to remember Tom having some sort of issue with the Newcastle council last time - something around public liability insurance? Was that for the Tux car park?

i tried to get a meet going down the sealife center but i guess thats a bit chav to depending on where you park and only hulse turned up
Envy sounds good. For a coastal spot though, could always try Druridge Bay Country park....

there was one about 3 years ago we met down retail world TVTE...then went onto a private drag strip:dI remember Gaz walker with his purple supe and geordie steve was there in his...dale boneyard was there before he had it painted etc...it was a good laugh till the police decided to break up the party:d

I think meeting at the retail world end is what would make it seem a bit 'chavarish'
Given that its a sunday, it shouldn't be too hard to find a large area not in use down one of the less frequented parts.
I'm off work next week so will have a scout about and see what I can find.
The 19th is fine for me, just before me hols, car has shreaded another fan belt though so all my bling pulleys are being replaced with origionals, this hopefully is happening this week so fingers crossed should have car back for Sunday :)

it feels personal not sure which direction you are taking this all i am doing is trying to get some local supras together and from what i can see that hasn't happened much in the past after spending my own time taking the trouble contacting people for a supra meet and getting positive feedback i now feel very disgouraged by your comments, very confused about the jne comment after joining jne after the club went through a funny time shall we say and not being involved in that,i am wondering you mentioned that because of something that happened in the past. i can honestly say that i am wondering if it is all worth the effort trying to get together with other supras if i am apearing to be taking over not sure how we are to meet up if we dont communicate with each other.

currently JNE & Japtuner have regular meets. GDC wanted Supra meeting started something we keep trying to do only for a local club to become the owner of the meet which defeats the object.
Advertise on as many sites as you wish but please keep the meet to Supra's only. Iwill not be attending as in many peoples eyes I am not worthy as my Aristo is the mother of the Supra so to speak.
Take my words how you want but GDC and co want a mkivsupra.net meeting for Supra's, all local supra's a chance to show off their cars;)

Sounds like a decent plan to me :) I met a guy last month who had just bought a TT. I told him about the site but he's not joined as far as I know. Anyway I had his number and got in touch and he said he would come along aswell (I told him it was a supra only meet). Me and this guy called steve will be at silverlink for 12:15 so I'll see you's there, Should be fun :)

Ah Boll*cks, looks like you guys had a good meet. One of our customers called me just before I was about to leave and said there was no one their so I did not make the journey! God knows which car park he was in then! He was in a black Supra with 5 spoke silver Racing Hart CX on. Does not look like he is in any of the pic's so must not have caught up with you guys.

If 2 of the guys are going to the lakes run, then perhaps you should try to conbine it into that and show the NE numbers. It is usally a good run out as well, nice driving and winding roads.
just a thought, it is a big meet and loads of cars (not just supra's go)
I'd love to get a big meet some where large and grassy. ;)

why dont the NE owner meet before going in convoy in different directions, 1 to nissan and the other to the lakes run, someone could get some good video action of the 1st convoy departing then ? just an idea

How about the Tyne Riverside Country Park for a meeting site? Its at Newburn, not far off the A1 and has loads of free parking, grassy areas etc...

went to kelmans today for sunday dinner place is ideal for a meet although car park filled up quickly we arrived at 11.45ish plenty of spaces then if thats not to early for people to meet up.
Seeing as I missed the last one keeping my Sundays clear so I can get to the next one, back from hols on Thursday so can make Sunday 9th or any after, will keep checking in on this thread

yes jspec and i have talked but never met him yet will probibly hook up with him down the ring sometime though (well that was the plan anyway) as for the alcohol i could have a look for you over here i get every thing cheap i should be doing a massive shift of cigs xmas time i normally do 200 for £30 they tend to go pritty fast at that price too, had to ask for my arm back off massey when i was home over summer
