Is it normal for a dbb turbo to have a restrictor fitted in the oil inlet housing? I ask as my journal bearing turbo has nothing in this fitting and the new one has a restrictor of some sort. Almost like a thread filter.

How much shaft movement do you get from a dbb turbo? Seems to be more axial movement on this new dbb than the old journal one I am removing for worn bearings?

Also do turbo's require a bed in time and if so how long?

Dbb turbos only require an oil mist on the bearing, so yes, they should have a small oil supply hole.
Cant help on your other Q's cos i've never played with one:)

Hmm I am kind of a bit worried about this now. The turbo unit vibrates quite badly when cold. I'm wondering if its taken a knock in transit. I'm sure its not meant to have all the play in the shaft that it has. Still it pulls alot harder than it used to.
