I love this forum but being a member that is doing/done an na-t project, i could not find as much information as i wanted. There are constantly people signing up to the forum and asking about going Na-t. So i think it would be brilliant if there was a section for na-t conversions or some sort of sub section so that i no longer need to go to clubna-t.com and supraforums.com.
Any views on this are welcome. I am working on a mahoosive walkthrough that could be sticky'd to the section.
I think the number of people considering such an option are increasing and it may well be time to add such a section.
:)
i think this is a great idea, and as time goes by people can add more info as people get more knowledge on the subject

Thats what i was thinking m45sey. Hopefully, admin will agree with us.
this is a great idea as im thinking of going down the diy na-t route it would be very helpfull
Well if you have a n/a to n/a T section, there should be a section for TT to single/big twin aswell.
So not really worth doing IMHO
Just my 2p worth :)
It would fragment the forum too much IMHO.... Someone would then want a stock section, stock NA, stock TT, stock facelift TT, etc.....
Technical isn't that busy I don't think... and chat, well chat is chat *grin*

i suppose you are right. it would just save me having to go to club na-t as there isnt much information on here about goint na-t at all.

Well, here is your chance, starting putting up the info you find...

How is having a section going to help that? If the owners don't contribute here and assist other members then the knowledge of these conversions isn't going to increase.
I really don't see any need for another section, the NA-T conversion isn't exactly that much different to conversion on a TT (fundamentals are the same), so an entire forum to discuss these minor differences is pretty pointless, you could cover most of it in a thread.
Surely the TT - single conversion is more likely candidate (not that it will happen either), there's far, far more of these done that NA-T's
IMO the reason that people want to go ' diy ' is because the kits supplied by the like of BL and PHR are expensive in the way they are put together, there is a very good reason for this as they are super reliable. Another member pointed this out (think it was bowk1 cant remember exact name) he pieced a kit together and ended by saying if he did it again he would buy a well established kit. As is always said you get what you pay for.
i think its a great idea
or at least a sticky in the technical area

i think it would be a good idea, it could give us N/A owners an idea on what to do to turbo our motors
definitely a good idea and will give a lot of n/a owners the info and backup to go forth with what has been an idea brewing in the back of the mind to a reality. A lot can be gained from this
Just keep piling it on a thread. Looking forward to see pics and info.

I think an N/A-T section is a good idea. There have been loads of posts on this topic on here in the past, but the search function is difficult to use/not great at pulling up the results that you require, hence an N/A-T section would make things easier.

I agree that maybe a section that includes all conversions would be good. I dont want to go to clubna-t.com because i like it here and clubna-t isnt as busy and takes a few days to get a response if any at all. I would like this to be put into place but its the admins choice. I am happy how the forum is, its amazing, but i think a section like this would make it better for alot of people including myself. Kind regards. Kieren.

Nothing, i just think a conversion section would be good. You dont have an n/a so maybe you dont see where we are coming from ;-) ;-)

Is there a TT section?? No there isnt.
Do you see members asking for a TT section? No you dont.
Do we have a mkiv section? Yes because we all drive mkiv's
:D
mkiv technical is great but it does have lots of threads in it.
if we had another section just for conversions then the N/A-T, N/A to TT, TT to single, auto to manual 5 speed to 6 speed, uk brake conversion could go in with poss other convertions or installs.
it would be easier to find, read and understand for anyone wanting to take it on

ok ok, it was just an idea. Jeez..........:)
We have discussed having a projects section in the past, which could be used for detailing builds and conversions of all kinds.

A projects section would be even better IMO. I love following peoples projects and seeing how they all come together.

I agree Dave, alot of the people in this thread completely agree with the idea of an extra section like a projects section. But its the certain popular members on here what have the final say on it.

You have alot to say on the matter Smarty, not much of it is productive though. A straight NO would have been ok.....

Of course you are allowed an opinion, everyone is allowed an opinion. But you just seem to take it too far and start being sarcastic. But like you said, you must have been in one of them moods.

Yeah it is Rob, but when people put sarcastic comments, it seem to miss the point about "Opinions welcome". And then just turns into a slanging match. Constructive opinions are what i really wanted which all the people in favour of the idea, did do.

Its banter mate, it happens, get used to it :p
I apologise if you think i was being sarcastic. That was not how it was meant to come across.
Opinions and input to the forum are always welcome :)
The issue with this is the audience and participation is tiny compared to the overall membership. If we have one for the small NA-T market (which lets face it is going to be about 20 regulars at most), we also need one for the TT singles, the TT guys, etc, etc. It would be endless.
As mentioned, the NA-T conversion really isn't that different to any other, there's only a few differences which can be discussed in a single thread. An entire forum section is just not needed, we already have the Technical section to discuss things like NA-T conversions.
We try and keep the forum to as few section as poissible, otherwise it becomes unmanageable and difficult to navigate.
Edit - I've put this to the rest of mods for a vote
