... an exhaust more quiet without make its more resctrictive?

Swap 4inch exhaust for 3'', heat wrap from downpipe to back box, replace 2nd decat with silencer (empty tin).

Any more ideas?

Baffle in the back tail pipe :)

Buy one thats been designed in that way in the first place, like the NUR RX, Tanabe Touring, etc. From what I've seen of these exhausts they have an additional straight through silencer in the mid section.

You're on the right track though.

I'd add a silencer in the mid-catback (not 2nd cat pipe). Muffleman (I think) said that heat wrapping removed a lot of noise too (also good for performance), so certainly worth a try.

I disagree mate, the baffle adds a significant restriction in most pipes. When mine was BPU, the baffle in the RSR dropped boost by up to 0.15 bar.

Mine didnt drop boost, it just made it run slightly richer than normal.

Mine was in the BL 4" system.

Ah, that might be why, the BL is a drainpipe so wouldn't suffer as much from the baffle. Good news as I need a baffle for mine!

I'm going to buy Blitz Nur RX but i suppose that after full decat it will be still loud on N/A-T.

Heat wrapping is cheap so definitely it is worth a try.

NA-T and a post-TT single will sound almost exactly the same.

The NA's are loud with straight-though pipes due to the complete lack of silencing from a turbo. Fit a tubular manifold and a turbo and you're in the same situation as a post-TT with tubular and single turbo.

There are several absorption type boxes (cherry bomb style) that you can add, that will not restrict, but will quieten it down.

Thank you for information.

Are these boxes only a custom-build?
