Bleed Nipple Cover

Did a brake fluid change yesterday and the two rear rubber bleed nipple covers fell apart. How important is it to have these in place and is it possible to buy them?

Also if anyone is interested I used a piece of tubing bought from Halfords that had a non return valve on it. This meant that I could bleed the system myself but without the need for tyre pressure and a seperate reservoir of brake fluid. It cost around £5.

Cheers

Jon

They come in the caliper seal kit from Toyota and not sure you can buy them on their own.

Try your local motorfactors as these will be the same as a lot of other cars.

As said a bit of rubber hose is the way to go and silicon the end :)

If the bleed nipple covers fell apart i'd have a close look at the piston outer seals,

unless they have been changed they could also do with being replaced before they

split and then you end up with seized pistons

Oh bugger, I'll just stick some silicon tubing on then. I need them for my new UK calipers, they didn't come with the bleed nipple covers for some reason :(

Pop into your local carspares shop, bleed nipple covers on most calipers will be the same ;) :)
