NOW £17,000 ONO

WILL ALSO CONSIDER A P/EX WITH A MANUAL NA SUPRA

I've done the whole Supra thing now, will be starting a new business and relocating soon so need the supra sold. Will be looking to move into V8 land in a couple of years anyway, I've had 2 single turbo Supras and fancy a change :)
I've spent a lot of money on this supra, it currently has a SP74 but i'm in the process of fitting a smaller turbo with view to a power band lower down the rev range.
At 1.4 bar on the SP74, the car does 400RWHP through the Marlin Motors rolling road, the torque feels very impressive at 579.4NM.
The car is fully mapped for that pressure, Michel Lane is in charge of the servicing and changes to the mechanics and tune of the car.
Car will be supplied with 12 months MOT, Tax is due in April, will be adding 12 months when it expires. Current mileage is low at 59000.
As it's a daily there's the expected stone chips on the front bumper etc, if someone pays the full asking price i'll arrange for these to be sorted before collection.

As I've said, I use this car everyday, it's an awesome head turner and has great prescence, never let me down since it's been mapped etc. Someone will get a great car with it being a VVTI gunmetal 6 speed supra. A few pics taken last year for Supradibb's rear bumber group buy can be seen below. Full spec below that.
I will also include a full set of CJ's workshop manuals, I have a huge file of receipts and the instruction manuals where applicable (RLTC, Clifford etc)

Can't believe your selling Ro.

A Twin Turbo 350Z is a good choice though ;)

Gaz.

Haha possibly, I'm bored of driving fast though so I'd probably keep a 350Z stock with an exhaust and kit and wheels maybe. Went out in a TVR last night, loved that too. With all the incidents of speeding bans and crashes etc, I'm bored of hammering round which is why I've not pushed this Supra to anywhere near it's limit.

Forgot to add, this car has RLTC fitted in terms of sensors at the wheels, it's not wired into the AEM simply because I don't know how to do it. I'm sure someone like Matt Harwood could sort it out

Kopite
09-08-07, 21:55
Car booked in to get the air leak sorted in the 1st week of September :) Wheels will be refurbed at the same time.

Open to sensible offers too by the way, could do with this going in the next few weeks to be honest, insurance is due then

10-08-07, 19:06
New brake pads and plugs going on soon, oil change recently performed with new TRD filter. Car will be detailed soon to freshen her up, I'll add some pics later on but it's been a bit miserable at the min so could do with another wash!

Just adding that when the wheels are refurbed, it will be fitted with some Goodyear F1s so will be plenty of tread left :) The map on the car will also be given the once over again to make sure it's running perfectly :)

Will also include the AEM software and a CD-R of the map for the car

It doesnt look overpriced, its a low mileage 6 speed '98 single in Gunmetal!!!

It doesnt get much better than that imo

Kopite
22-08-07, 22:18
:dunno: Has a couple of issues but that usually comes with a single, they're gonna be sorted before any sale anyway. Will happily take anyone for a test drive if they doubt the car's performance

26-08-07, 16:58
:yeahthat: lol

Just to clarify:

- Full service to be done in a couple of weeks will have an oil change done again with new filter even though it was done recently
- New UK front brake discs to go on, new pads all round and fluid
- All idle and start issues will be sorted as well as a thorough inspection (leakdown test etc) BEFORE any sale
- Will fit a new Apillar pod

The car will be perfect BEFORE any sale is finalised or money exchanged etc so any bidder has peace of mind :)

Kopite
04-10-07, 20:57
Going for a Cerbera :D Should be interesting. Gonna get a runaround for WHEN the cerbera breaks down, gonna try and be more hands on with the TVR though as I'll have a spare car for when I fuck it up :D Wouldn't attempt anything on the Supra, left that to the experts as I can't risk not having it running

hogmaw
04-10-07, 20:59
Are you not put off at all by the reliability issues?

Kopite
04-10-07, 21:02
A little bit but hopefully found what appears to be a good made one. Gonna go have another look at it someone who knows a lot more about Cerberas than I do, if it turns out to be too troublesome then I'll get rid of it and stick to normal cars :) I've contemplated just getting a moderately nippy saloon/hatchback but got a hankering to give a Cerbera a go before that as i've always loved them

hogmaw
04-10-07, 21:05
Sounds like you're going about it sensibly with your eyes wide open, so go for it. I hope you get a well-behaved one, buying a dream car that turns out to be a wrong un can't be much fun.

Kopite
04-10-07, 21:36
Hopefully, if it seems a bit dodgy then I'm not gonna bother full stop. Will just get a runaround and leave it at that

Kopite
08-10-07, 00:34

Kopite
10-10-07, 18:35
Open to P/Ex offers for more normal cars etc too

Kopite
10-10-07, 22:39
Now £18k or £16k with a P/Ex for a decent runabout

Cause of air leak found, simple fix :) The car is with Michel Lane at the minute being given a thorough service etc still!

Kopite
28-10-07, 10:56
As the wheels on this need a minor refurb, I might possibly take them off and put some Ultralites on (was thinking of doing this anyway). If I do, would be either black with polished rim or normal silver. Pics from Whifbitz's section in the below link:

28-10-07, 22:37
Sure Ro i'll have a pic for you by tomorrow, there was a thread on here not so long ago about Malamute dogs, from what I know their not to dis-simalar although the Siberian Huskies tend to be more docile.
Both breeds of dog do however need alot of exercise and don't ever let them off a lead
Fantastic breed though!
Here you go Ro http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=119526&highlight=malamutes

02-11-07, 22:25
lovely car, hope you get waht you need.

nearly bought a cerbera 4 years ago. nice car. Did quite a bit of research, and....
use it a little everyday seems to be the key. rich folk who leave them standing then flog the hell out of them every 2 weeks are the guys who blow them up and have reliability issues. ironically as a daily driver they are pretty good,,, so i heard from a number of different sources.

Kopite
02-11-07, 22:29
I hope so mate, seems to make sense as I reckon it's probably the same with Supras. Keeps the fluids moving, stops build up in pipes etc, engine in use doing what they should be. Just need the Supra to go now, it's all about to be finished this weekend with a remap next Thursday now by the looks of it. Just need to get the A-pillar sorted as well and decide what to do about the wheels.... keep or put some Ultralites on...

Kopite
06-11-07, 13:34
:bump: should be back on the road after Thursday :)

Kopite
06-11-07, 17:09
Will take £17600 for this, remap due on Thursday and might possibly have a map done by RyanG in a month for comparison :) New wheels and tyres will be added over the next few days as well as a new Veilside gear knob and new A Pillar. Possibly adding a freshly sprayed stock spoiler as the TRD one is becoming common, always liked the stock spoiler with the Trial rear.
No further price reductions as I'm spending a lot to make the car perfect and hassle free. Really wanted a club member to take it and look after it, after the remap i want it gone so will be in the trader and ebay etc :(

Kopite
07-11-07, 15:34
Just to add, car comes with RLTC and Clifford manuals, wad of receipts for parts on the car and a full set of CJ's workshop manuals. Will add other bits when I remember them!

Cheers for taking me out the other night Roe, really is a stunner of a car.

If someone is looking for a big single supra, thats been well tunned, aint going to fall apart and more importantly is a facelift 98 vvti, then this is for you. Be warned tho it isnt for the faint of heart, this is a seriously powerful car. Both myself and Rob Wild agreed that it really is a minter, but it isnt going to be for everyone as singles arnt.

Ro was kind enough to collect some MR2 suspension struts for me and drop them into me on his way home to Liverpool (Cheers Ro  )

Ro gave me a lift out in the Supra too :D

Of all the singles iv been in, it was the most impressive. Considering it has such a comparatively large turbo fitted, it spooled VERY quick! It was starting to get a little damp/icy on my private test track so he had to take it easy, but the grip was immense and the rush amazing!

That R34 Skyline never knew what passed it!!

Ro then took my mate out, and left him looking quite white and speechless - first person to do that in years!!!

dandan
15-12-07, 18:49
What is the spool like on that turbo Ro?

4th gear...what sort of rpm will you reach say 0.5bar, 1.0bar, 1.2bar and 1.4bar?

Kopite
15-12-07, 18:57
To be honest mate I've no idea, too busy keeping the car pointing straight(ish) :D Gonna give another lad a spin out tomorrow, will try and get him to look at the boost gauge while I'm looking at the revs, if i can fix my laptop i'll do some logging too. Would be ok if the roads were ok, slippy as fook at the minute. Snake Pass in the fog and ice was fun at 11pm last night :D

Hiya mate :)

I may be looking for something in July/august time when I sell one of my houses. I may make you an offer if you still have the car.

I thought you would have sold it ages ago tbh. Shame you didnt uprate the internals, but not a prob running 400rwhp.

How much have you spent on the car since you had it if you dont mind me asking?

Paul.

Kopite
05-02-08, 18:41
Alright dude, long time no speak. Lol knowin your offers it'd be £3.50 :p Didn't bother with the internals as the stock engine has a lot of life left in it, just a tad under 60k miles with regular oil changes etc. The 400rwhp was with an air leak, it's waiting for a new crank sensor at the min, mine got a bit mucky with the undertray being cracked when it was last in the body shop, gonna add an Envy aliminium one afterwards to replace it. Waiting for Ibrar to give a price on a wheel and caliper refurb too :)
I went through a few months where i wasn't pushing the sale as it was driving so nicely, it definitely is for sale as I'm gonna save for a couple of years for another stupid fast car ;) Will tell you about that on msn :)

Update - car is off the road for a bit now, getting the engine bay all polished, wheels and calipers done, also downsizing the turbo to a Garret T04Z / GT35R or similar to help the driveability. The Recaros have been swapped for some mint electric black leathers from Jevansio's car.

I know, should be a lot more fun with quicker spool. Might go for a T61, weighing it up still. Just to add, price is negotiable, I'm looking at startin a new business and relocating soon so this Supra needs to be sold to let me move forward really! The move to V8 land will be a couple of years off now :(
Will consider a P/ex with a manual NA if that tempts anyone :)

Good move, its a nice car that im sure you will sell easy with a fast spooling tubby:)

Sound Performance T67 turbo with anti-surge ordered from Velocity Performance, engine bay getting all tarted up and colour coded better etc too. A stock head and a stock intake are being refitted after seeing the performance on a more stock car, the plenum is probably too big for a smaller turbo but the beast will still fly :) New air filter coming too to replace the current one :) Should be done in 3 weeks or so :D

Offers still welcome, got a couple at the min but nothing concrete :)

Updated - new 67 turbo came up a bargain :D Hoping Ryan will map on the 4th April :)

It might be the clutch that the general buyer might no like, it is a seasoned race addition that is very specific to a niche market. Perhaps buying something less violent would help with the sale? just an idea mate ;)

Lol silence auto boy :D The Exedy clutch is a racing clutch, if it's too aggressive for anyone an RPS Max will be ok with the 67 turbo :)

Hi,

I could be interested in your car, just wont to know if you still have the std bumpers?

Also do you know if the suspension bushes have been change at anytime?

Thanks

viney

Hi Viney, i think the bumpers are in Envy's bodyshop but the last i heard they'd been damaged and not worth repairing :(
I don't think the suspension bushes have been done, i'll check the receipts when i'm back at home in a weeks time. The car does handle like a dream at the minute anyway :) Let me know if you want a viewing at anytime, mapping is scheduled for next week if the turbo's here from the states. After that it's off to get the wheels done :)

MAPPED

Just spoke to Michel, him and Ryan have been sorting the car out road tuning since yesterday, mapped up to 1.3 bar and seems to be about 550bhp according to the arse dyno. Will be on the RR in a couple of weeks :)

Sounds good mate, what turbo did you go with?

Kopite
27-04-08, 14:54
It's a SP850GTW, same type as on my first UK car, SP67 with antisurge :) Michel's bringing it up in a bit for me to have a go in and see how it is, then it's going back to get the engine bay etc powdercoated and the wheels powdercoated :)

Enjoy chap, There is abit more to come when the front knock sensor gets replaced as it stopped me enabling the knock control due to the constant interference it was showing at the ecu. Not having this enabled means that i havn't pushed the timing to its full potential as had to take into account for any crap fuel or fueling issues.

This is some car;) It sounds like a right beast.

I think we all hope it stays in the UK?

Should be on the dyno this Saturday :) still needs a tidy up but all should be done next week. It most likely will stay in the UK - Michel thinks i'll change my mind on selling it still :D With it being a 98, the import fees to go abroard are much higher :(

Car went on the Motoscope rolling road today, varying HP levels due to a leaky BOV - we're swapping this out for a Tial one instead now as the boost dropped when it leaked :( . Highest flywheel figure (didn't catch the RWHP on this run) was 540 @ 1.3 bar, had to dyno in 5th as in 4th there was too much wheel spin from the F1s, need some R888s for the dyno :D On another run it saw 500bhp by 5000rpm, quick enough on the road anyway :D The airfiler is a little restrictive too, there's an AEM one going on on Monday :)

Hi Ro,

I am curious what you do for idel speed stabilization/control with the fly by wire delete and the Q45 throttle body. Have you added an idle bypass valve somewhere?

Cheers
Dan

Hi mate, we've ditched the Q45 and fitted a UK manifold now. There's a idle control valve on, the stepper motor was on with the Q45.

OK I gotcha. No thoughts of going back to the vvti setup and keeping the drive by wire/knock response?

The AEM controls the VVTi anyway and does utilise the knock monitor feature. Not really thought about going back to FBW, i've not got the stock VVTi intake anymore unfortunately :(

Sorry Ro, I meant going back to the vvti fly by wire throttle and the inbuilt det protection that gives you by automated throttle closing under det conditions....I just re-read my post and it wasn't clear.

Anyway, did you get it back on the rollers fully mapped with the new tubby on? I bet you she's flying now.

Kopite

Hi mate, i can't remember if the AEM was compatible with the FBW.
Was on the rollers at 1.3 bar but had a leaking BOV, peak was 540bhp flywheel and about the same level of torque. That was with the map slightly rich as one of my knock sensors wasn't working. Changed the BOV out and new knock sensor, new O2 sensor also, leaned the map out since, definite improvement in power but not been on the RR since
