Exhaust proper on mothers car.

Hi all,

My mothers corsa had a new exhaust fitted by ShitFit (Kwikfit) and basically shes been back twice for different problems.

Anyway theres a knocking sound, so i took my first look today and they had replaced the mid section and rear back box. I believe they cut the pipe to short and the bend in the exhaust isnt sitting over the torsion bar properly.

Here are pics below, however its alot worse than it looks theres about 1 cm between the exhaust and the hand brake cable on the torsion bar.

Basically its knocking like a biatch! Can someone confirm this , so i can go back and blaze them Monday.

Difficult to confirm without looking at it, it does look close though.

Tell them it wasn't knocking when you took the car in and now it is, tell them you've had a look and it is hitting something.

I had a kwick fit exhaust put on my old mk3 fiesta when I was 17 (7 years ago now scary) and the whole exhaust use to hang down and catch everything!! I made them un-weld every section of it and make it fit.... specially after it fell off on the way back from college.... :) The parts are cheap rubbish unfortunately :(

If they can't get it right ask them to use another make, like Bosal as I imagine it's a Timex.

An normal sort of garage would use a OEM part only due to the normal hassle them.

Yep took it back, refitted it. Looks right now and much more space, they said some numpty had fitted it wrong.

As far as im concerned there all numpties, buts its amazing the difference a bloke going there and saying WTF makes.
