full-race turbo kit (fastest spooling time)?

im looking at investing in one of the full turbo kits full-race make.

mainly down to the piece of art manifold!!

my question is on the 2JZGTE T4 Turbo Upgrade:

Includes:

2JZGTE ProStreet 4" Downpipe

2JZGTE ProStreet 4" Midpipe

2JZGTE ProStreet T4/44 Divided Dual Gated Turbo Manifold

2 TiAl 44mm Wastegates

Garrett GT45R (1120hp) or GT42R (1020hp) Series Twinscroll Turbo.

Compressor Specs:

Inducer = 74.3mm

Exducer = 102.3mm

Trim = 53

AR = 0.60

Turbine Specs:

Wheel dia = 82mm

Trim = 84

AR = 1.01, 1.15, 1.28, 1.44

ive said that the turbo is way too big for what i would like, i want something that spools really fast, as id like to start a number of track days next year.

and they came back offering the

gt4088R,

Compressor Specs

Inducer dia. 63.5mm.

Exducer dia. 88.0mm.

Trim 52.

Housing AR 0.72.

Turbine Specs

Wheel dia. 77mm.

Trim 78.

Housing AR 0.95.

Free Float Type

which i personally still think is too big.

my question is, will there be any benifit to running a smaller t4 flanged turbo on a high flowing manifold as such as the full-race one.

http://www.full-race.com/catalog/images/toyota%202jzgte%20gen2%20t4.jpg

and which turbo would be best for this setup. 550 fly figure is enough for what id like.

ive read on the forum that the GT3582R / F1-35R Twinscroll Turbo BB is quite possibly the fastest,

Turbine Specifications

Turbine housing A/R: .70 or .84

Turbine inlet: T4 Twinscroll

Turbine outlet: 3” Vband

Turbine wheel: F1-35

Compressor Specifications

Compressor housing A/R: .70

Compressor Inlet: 4”

Compressor Outlet: 2.5”

Compressor Wheel: F1-35

where is the best place to conduct my research into this, i.e compare turbo's and compatibility for the supra engine.

thanks:)

another what/who/where thread on turbos, yey:rolleyes::ecstatic::more::twak:

If you want a responsive car I would forget about any of the turbo kits they offer, they are all huge power and will be very laggy.

I would definitely recommend the Garrett GT35R, this should give you around 540fwhp and very little lag with positive boost at around 2K rpm and peak boost at around 3K rpm. I use a GT35R with .82 AR with T4, 3" v-band exhaust side.

If you want to use one of their manifolds, then I would piece together a kit something like this:

FR Manifold

FR Downpipe + Midpipe

Garrett GT35R (T4 v-band)

2 x Wastegates

Induction pipe + filter

IC pipe

Water + Oil lines

Gaskets + fittings

Its a nice piece of kit , but why are you wasteing your money on such a high tech manifold with such a small turbo ??... The only place its going to benefit you is on your bank balance . I have used 3 types of manifolds already ,they are all nearly the same , the sound is different on all of them to a point, but other then that, power delivery may vary 2-7hp difference. Thats running smaller turbo's below t78. I would advice you on saving your money and buy a cast manifold kit for the GT35R or invest in the HKS unit that NIC has to offer.

He'd only need a single wastegate on that tubby...FR can make their manifolds house either 1 or 2...so I'd spec just 1 tial 44mm WG.

FWIW though I don't think a full race will make a huge difference to such a small turbo. An HKS mani from nic will do the job just fine ;)
