Gaz Walker
Just print out the email confirmation in case, but the police will know after a quick check that you are taxed
heartworm
As far as I know your not meant to drive it without the disk, risk of £250 fine for not displaying the disk, I had to take the company van off the road till they sent me a new tax disk the eijits

juanchan
Probably a good idea mate. The police can check you're taxed if they stopped you, but if a traffic warden decided to take a disliking to your car, they wouldn't be able to.
Class One
You DEFINATELY cannot keep/use/drive your car on a road until your are displaying your disc.
Gaz Walker
You DEFINATELY cannot keep/use/drive your car on a road until your are displaying your disc. Thats a bit crappy, I can understand why but when you've paid its seems a little harsh. Gaz.

razza
I'm sure when I was late renewing my tax, someone at the DVLA told me you get 14 days grace anyway so it wouldn't be a problem, I drove for a few days without the new disc, no problems. You were told wrong then. There is NO 14 days grace period, the 14 day bit is the time period that you can apply for a new disc BEFORE it starts.
