If anyone is wanting a chep tent deal, then go to Argos, £39.99 for 2 man tent with porch, 2000mm hydrostatic head(about the max) two mummy sleeping bags and two ground mats, i have already put the tent up, easy to "erect" and has taped seams and can take maximum downpour!!!:)

I saw some great tents at Decathlon sports store in Lakeside, fold up into a rucksack and yet sleep up to 4, all for less than £50, all I need now is a Supra !

I was tent ignorant, but apparently 2000mm hydrostatic head is the highest value for rain resistance, lowest being 800, 1200, 1500 then 2000, but for ground mats and sleeping bags as well this is good, i have tried everything out and was more impressed than i thought i would be, made in China but what isn't nowadays!!:)

There'll be no room for the cars with all these mobile mansions :D Can't beat an army 7x9, small footprint 8'x10' standing room in pretty much the whole tent and sleeps two nicely which is usually how many people are in each mansion tent with own butler and guy ropes stretching into next week :)
RE the halfords one quick to erect 25 minutes?? WTF lol

And i bought THIS (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300124776334&rd=1&rd=1) for me and the missus for JAE, which is apparently 3000mm. I put it up in the garden to try it and i've pulled the zip off already

Only took about 2 hours to put it up though

Make sure you buy good tent pegs the plastic ones are good.
Last years JAE monsoon highlighted the weaknesses of some of the members tent erecting skills :p
I helped to hammer a couple of tents down during said storm !

It's not huge but big enough for me and the wife, especially as she will hopefully be lying on top of me anyway:)

I'm gonna have a crack at putting mine up tonight in my lounge :)

I was tempted by an airbed but passed as I already have a rollmat... is the airbed worth while? what's the ground like to camp on?

Really Sh*t mate. the more you can put between you and the ground the better. Roll mats are OK I guess but if you get your hips on a bit of hard ground or a rock in your back you'll not sleep after the booze wears off.

There is a good deal in Halfords at the moment. It's quite big with two 'bedrooms' and a centre bit, 2 double inflatable mattresses, 4 deluxe sleeping bags and 2 lamps all for £99.

https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10601&productId=230915&summaryOnly=true

It's half price.

You could just take this...
