After all my badgering for the last 3 years or so, Lin's finally seen the light and is going to look for something to replace her 'R' reg 1.3 Fiesta. :)

She checked the oil (for the first time in months) 'cos it "smelt a bit hot". The level was below the bottom mark so she called me to have a look. There was oil all over the top of the block, but that looks like it's just the usual flimsy Ford rocker cover a bit loose so I tightened it down.

However, when I took the cap off to fill up there's a lovely orange sludge all over the inside.

She's had it serviced annually, including oil changes, so it looks like the head gasket has finally given up the ghost.

Lin's scared stiff it's going to go... :bang:

Add that to the fact that she already banged up the boot in an accident a month or two ago and I think I've finally persuaded her to get rid of it. :D

She's quite keen on getting an MX5 or maybe a Puma (she does like her Fords).

Both a step up, and at least the rear lights on the Puma are similar to those of the supe - you could always "borrow" them for a clear rear lens conversion. :sly:

I'd go for the MX5. Great little car.

I've got a nice BMW Z3 going up for sale Ken;)

My mum just traded in her old Clio 1.4 and bought an MX5 and is absolutely over the moon with it, seems like a great car:)

Thanks all the same Nath, but I hope to heck she never, ever, ever decides she wants to be a BMW driver! :p
