I popped to southend the other day just to see if it was still shit, and it is, but I think a load of us should pile down there, because its worth it just for a laugh..
I sat there for at least 2 hours just looking and laughing at the state of some of the shit cars down there it was hilarious!
One fiesta I saw looked like the front and rear bumpers were made from old crunchy nut cornflakes boxes and the exhaust was in the centre, oval about 16" wide, i shit you not.
Its gotta be worth it for a grin...?
instead of a west end cruise - next time a south end cruise ?? :p
I swear roy, if you have a digital camera, then take it to southend cos i'm gonna then post a load of pics here, it was sooooo funny!
acutally - i think a fair few might be up fer it. maybe a spot of curry after ?
yeah I'd come along .. it's a bit of a trek but would be worth it to have a laff .. is it still normally on a sunday ?

I went there a few times when i first got the Supra and i know exactly what you mean - there really are some shocking efforts there. Just post up when your thinking of going. A saturday night would be good i think because some of us have to work saturdays!?! :(

I know Hockley well, own a chippy near southend airport and used to own one in Hullbridge,....Hockley just down the road from both of them ha ha.....small world. Should have my supra back next week so I'll tag along with the cruisers too........BUT WORD OF CAUTION FOR ALL SUPRA DRIVERS......the A127 on the way to southend always has speed mobile speed camera jobbies ha ha.....but lately they have been closing the the A127 down into 1 lane and have a row of 6-10 police cars checking every car going past......seen this at least 4 times in the last 2 months, so may be better to come off the A127 and travel via the back route which runs parallel to the A127 and rejoins the arterial further down near southend.

I'm travelling down the A13 from the M25 at lakeside, its a bit quicker and I try and keep it at 70ish when in any sort of convoy anyway...
Anyone that lives round this way, meet me and Dave at bluewater near the cinema at 6.30-7ish on Saturday evening.

That is a good point and thats why its best to get there early, and nick the spaces!
To recap...
At Bluewater on Sat 27th at 6pm (revised) to get to southend for about 7ish, and we can get parking all together.
What part of the seafront are we going to park up in? You got the first part where all the arcades run along and then the lower part further along - this has a better parking area :music:

yeah thats it - you run along the seafront then take a left under the bridge. Good areas for parking down that end.
ALSO away from the real 'frantic' bit with the 'loonies' :sly:
have to POSE down that bit first and last obviously though ? !:p
It seems like all the Novas/Escorts blah blah Sheds etc hang around up near the arcades and take up all the room up there. The casino end the last time I went down had some real nice Jap motors parked up. :) Still the occasional shed down that end though :p

Afterwards, JIC has it for a new speedo converter.
If all goes well, I should have it back late in the week. Will let you know either way.

I haven't used the videoing function yet cos I got a sony handycam, but it all depends on the size of the SD card, bigger card=more time, it comes with a 16mb card but you can get up to 256mb ones, that should be enough for about 20-25 mins of decent footage.

Right guys i'll be up for this one. The last update i read was Sat 27th sept at 6pm, bluewater at the car park by the pond. is this correct? I live 10 mins away from bluewater..... well 5 in my supe!
By the way i went there on a friday a few weeks back and it was dead. The only decent motor there was a skyline, the rest were sheds. Hopefully it will be better when we go. By the way how many going??

Just to warn all you guys coming down to southend that havent been for a while or not at all, there are lots of speed camera's and mobile ones on the A127 and in the 40 limits in southend, i can think of 3 within 15 mins of each other which is the same coming back aswell.

yeah the cruises are every week, i went last night, i saw two supes down there, spoke to a guy called Mark at some traffic lights who had a silver veilside 6 speed supra with black/blue wheels which was nice, cant remember his BBS name though!
chris - i am happy to push it back a week and i think if at all possible, you should attend as you started this so come on people, shall we say the weekend after ? all those who prefer 27th and those for the week after, put finger to keyboard :p

just a thought guys n gals - if a few people are footloose on the weekend of the 27th (assuming that this southend thing gets shifted to the following weekend), what do you guys think of having a quiet lunch (if thats possible with you lot!) in kent somewhere - maybe a pub in maidstone ? it's a nice drive (if the weather holds!) and a chance to have a bit of food/pint n chat ? alternatively, if anyone has any other suggestions ..... :)

That sounds like a plan.... as long as theres steak involved? :D Not sure about lunch though, might be overtiming it during the day coz the cruise was in the evening.....??

But a massive thanks for that DVD, man I was expecting a copied version, but no, proper made one. Although my GF wasnt very happy with you, I must have watched it over and over about 20 times, but it just facinates me, I never saw the full version on telly. She didnt believe me it was one complete take, although I was a bit dispaointed in the behind the scenes area, really wanted them to go into more detail on how many attempts it took and how long. This is NOT a race Anyone that wants to drive like a loony can do so, on their own, not with everyone else, there are loads of coppers about in unmarked round the A13 and A127 on saturday nights.
This should be a normal cruise down, at 70-80ish, not wacky races, anyone that wants to go fast, i'll see them at the destination.
