I had both turbos replaced a couple of weeks ago.... bought them off Kev on here.

When I got the car back it didn't boost enough so it has been back in. They now say they didn't change the actuators on the ones I put in and din't put the old ones in and say its a turbo out job again which could cost me more feckin cash.

the turbos were working spot on the car that I got them of apparently. My turbos that were damaged still boosted up no problem.

What could the problem be and do you need to take the tuirbos off to replace or change actuaters?

when you put foot down it only goes so far ( slowly ) and then boost fades away

I'm close to smashin the feckin thing up

also would i be damagingthe car by driving it on lower boost for a bit

boost leaks, have you double checked hose and gasket connections.

the garage that has just had it said they had checked all that and cannot now imagine what it may be. they simply said the are lost for ideas:eyebrows:

are you sure the 2nd turbo is coming on at all? It's quite possible that they've not connected pipework up properly if they don't know what they're doing.

Have you got a boost guage to tell you what boost you're reaching and therefore at what rpm is actually starts to die down?

They are lost for ideas.....take it to CW as he must only be 1hr away from you ?

Could just be a weak actuator, i only got slightly less
than 0,5 bar when i changed my turbos, so i just shimmed the actuator with a couple of washers;) its easy to get to the no 1 turbo actuator.

I'm not sure after driving it this morning. Its boosting to .4 bar instead of .5 bar mark on the boost gauge. Its been that long since I drove the car that I can't recall how second turbo kicked in but it just accelerates revs and instead of the feeling of second turbo kicking in... boost fades and changes up a gear as its auto...:taped:

We need more info :) Are you talking 1st turbo only, or does the boost drop to this when the 2nd one comes online, or does it maintain this much across the rev range?

If it's a turbo 2 issue check the pressure tank's plumbing. It's under the intake plenum.

I don't think the 2nd turbo kicks in. It certainly doesn't feel like it. It appears that when the second one should kick in the boost drops and the car just changes up a gear

if the second one isn't coming on you would see a boost drop where it's supposed to.

what's your plan from here? I'm still liking the idea of something being plumbed back in wrong.

Plan?? I wish I had one. Its driving spot on apart from the problems associated with the boost. It accelerates well until the boost drops and the second turbo definately doesn't kick in.
I'm taking it to my mates next weekend to have a look

Well....finally last night we got somewhere....its not perfect but its a damn sight better than it was.....

I believe Simon has a faulty 'VSV for WasteGate Valve' - with the valve plumbed in properly hes lucky if he sees 0.3/0.4 bar & the 2nd turbo doesnt kick in at all.

With the valve bypassed & the two pipes joined together he gets 0.4bar from the first turbo then @ 5000rpm the 2nd turbo kicks in & he gets a very respectable 0.9BAR.

Now I presume that the valve that we believe to be faulty would allow the second turbo to come in sooner if it were working perfectly.

Can anyone verify this please????

What i did when i got my car which had all the plumbing for the turbos messed up was get a one way jet washer valve couple of silicon pipes and a foot pump. pressurise the system using the foot pump and ur also see the VSV's open and you be able to check for any leaks. if everything opens and theres no leaks take it for a drive, it will be like TTC mode though as both VSVs are force open.
