View Full Version : North West National Meet - All Welcome Sun 19 Aug '07
Hi there everyone,
I would like to make you all aware of a car show that is happening in the North West on Sunday 19th [-]July[/-] AUGUST 2007.
The event is being held at HAIGH HALL in the main grounds in front of the hall, so there is plenty of room.
I would like to invite your club and members to attend and pop your cars on your stand. Bit of a socialising day with what's looking like some interesting motors in attendance.
You can find out information here:
North West Japanese Car Event (http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=42784)
If you would like to attend please reply in this topic and I will add your names, along with your club to the main list. The more the merrier!
The day will be completely free to attend. Even if you don't want to put your car in the show area, you can always come along for the day and have a look around the various cars that will be here - again, no entrance fee :)
Several companies will also be making an appearance, including specialised Japanese tuning companies :)
Haigh Hall is located in Wigan, post code: WN2 1PE
Most shows are held down South, either in Northants or at Silverstone, so for a change, we're bringing one up here!
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
All the best,
Jamie

Thanks,
Jamie

Put me down too :)
I wish someone would!!:sly:

You're all very welcome to attend :)
If you know of any Supra owners that are not present on the forum, please do let them know about the event.
Thanks for your interest and your names have been added to the main list, so keep an eye for updates on attendees etc. - it's ever growing ;)
Also, it would be very helpful if you have a club banner, as I can now let you know that Banzai Magazine may be in attendance. This is to be confirmed, but my discussions with the Editor, Joe, would suggest so :D
Many thanks,
Jamie

Hey there everyone,
Just thought I'd pop by to see the latest......
If I could have an updated list from your club that would be great (rather than seperate posts). Also, if you have a club banner, that too would be great, so that it's an identifier for your club...
Thanks,
Jamie

Thank you for everyones interest and I'm sorry to those who were unable to make it. You are still all welcome on the day, just those who have posted their interest will be allowed on your stand.
If you could place your forum name in your windscreen on the day, along with club name so that I may tick you off on the list on the day.
Many thanks and here's to a great day and hopefully the start of an annual event :)
Regards,
Jamie

Good morning everyone,
I require your final list of attendees please. All places for this event have now been allocated and invitations have now closed. I will however accept any requests for attendance for those that have said "maybe" but will need to know ASAP, for ground allocation purposes.
The Japan North event is taking place on Sunday 19th August at Haigh Hall in Wigan for which everyone is welcome, free of charge.
Best regards,
Jamie
Mike,
I have potentially 7-8 NE Supra's looking for a meet, see NE section, how about we meet you b4/afterwards somewhere.
Don't want to commit to bringing more and then it not happening?

Hi Jamie, I'd take your previous list as the final numbers, in the absence of any further replies from the members I can only assume that those who've said yes will come. Will there be secure parking if we have any stragglers, or might we be able to sneak some others onto the stand?

Good afternoon everyone,
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS...
Here are the rules and regulations for the day - if these are adhered to, the event will go brilliantly and no doubt we won't be refused the opportunity to use this venue again next year!
Firstly...
Requirements
You will be required to have in your windscreen on arrival:
1. Club Name
2. Forum Name
3. Registration Plate Number
Failure to have these details will result in the vehicle not being able to enter the event area for display on your club stand.
Times:
Entry to the venue for owners clubs and companies will begin at 07:30AM and end at 09:30AM. Cars after this time will not be able to access the stands.
This is according to Haigh Hall Country Park's Health & Safety, as the venue is open to the public and so we must gather and arrange all cars by 09:30AM in preparation for opening.
The event will officially be open from 10:00AM to the public and this is when all cars will be in situe by.
The event will be closing at 16:30 and all cars MUST be cleared by 18:00.
Rubbish:
Basically, I have been told that if any rubbish is left at the end of the day, it will be picked by the park rangers and there WILL BE A CHARGE FOR THIS.
PLEASE collect ALL your rubbish, it's not a large favour to ask and this all contributes to being able to use the venue next time around.
If rubbish is left, the charge incurred will have to be passed onto your club.
Marshals:
Marshals will be located at the entrance to Haigh Country Park, along the driveway to Haigh Hall and at the event site to control and assist with parking of exhibition vehicles. Please conform to their directions.
Drivers are asked not to exceed 10MPH whilst you are within the grounds of Haigh Hall.
On arrival at the event site, your vehcile will be checked off from a list, according to your FORUM NAME, CLUB NAME AND REGISTRATION PLATE NUMBER.
The Day:
Once parked and arranged suitably, drivers are asked not to move their vehicle again until the close of the event at 16:30.
Should there be a need for a vehicle to be moved during the event, you MUST seek the assistance of one of the event marshals. Should you refuse to wait for assistance prior to moving the vehicle, a signature will be required on the Health and Safety Waiver Form and the matter reported to Event Control, along with your vehicle details.
Everyone should be aware of Health & Safety issues and bring any concerns to the attention of the event organisers, which may be found at the Lexus Owners Club stand and also wearing high visibility vests.
At the end of the day, the event marshals will supervise the orderly exit of exhibitors from Haigh Hall Country Park.
Please note: All members that have voiced interest in attending the day have been compiled into a list. This list will be passed onto event marshals, who will ensure that only cars belonging to members of the list may enter the venue for display on their club stand.
Above all, have a safe and enjoyable day and thank you for attending our first Japan North Car Event! Here's to many more...
Regards,
Jamie
;) Will do Jamie ...well done in organising this matey looking forward to this
Cheers
-Ian-
Why do you need your reg number on a small piece of paper when you have a big numberplate on the front of the car?
I can't commit to being there before that time and might not be able to stay until the time we are allowed to go due to being on call, will give it a miss.
Is Rays the Roof on the list?

:( Sorry to hear this Michael...!!
I don't think I'll be able to get there before that time and I will definitely have to leave early. Liverpool play Chelsea that afternoon.
I also wouldn't like my car to be put on show on the club stand as I have a drift scar in the front of my bumper (liar you mean you rolled into a towbar :innocent:)
I'll be there though to have a mooch about. I am going to bring my daughter too I think she likes her cars.
I'm still good to go on this one. At least now I dont have to rush off after as I dont work nights any more!:ecstatic:

Looking forward to this now guys. Anyone coming from north of Preston fancy meeting up on the way down as thats where ill be coming from. The last outing for my Supra this.
Gaz I am going (went past you Mum and Dads twice, about an hour ago, and spotted the car there).
I don't know what time I will be going yet. My little girls coming too. So it might get a bit later before I get to set off.
So if you're on the clubstand it might be too late for you to set off.

Hi there all,
When you make your way to the show tomorrow, please be aware that there are a few other shows on called Haigh Show, around the area that we are having ours.
Please look for the Japan North Logo below:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/jagr01/JapanNorth/JapanNorthLogo.png
If you do not see this, then the sign you have seen is not for the car show.
Also, Haigh Hall have a Sunday Carvery, which is on until 4pm tomorrow, so you could always book onto that tomorrow for some tea before leaving if you wished.
All the best and I look forward to meeting you...
Best regards,
Jamie

Here is a map for entry. The entrance on the right hand side of the map is nearer to Aspull, whilst the other entrance on the left is nearer to Standish / Red Rock.
There will also be signs to indicate entrance to the venue.

Despite the weather i had a top day out. Not had chance to sort out the photos yet so will hopefully get some up and some point point tonight, including some with proof that the boot space of a supra is practical (if you are wiping a babies arse that is ;))
Top marks for organizing it Jamie, and i really liked the personal touch you gave it by welcoming everyone to the place and walking round thanking everyone individually for coming. Hope the day went as you expected and hope you arrange another one for next year. Credit to everyone that helped you as well, everything ran smoothly.

Hi there everyone,
Thank you to those that attended - it was really great to place faces to names to cars etc :)
This was the very first Japan North Event and I hope that you will support next years, which will be much better - due to the feedback you supply.
Trade Stands will be much more in force, as the response this year was amazing, but sadly, due to most organising their Summer Holidays, this proved difficult. Despite this though, they still donated to the Raffle, which added to their potential for next year.
I was pleased to hear the responses as I greeted vehicles in the morning and then as they were leaving.
I'm sorry to those that I did not get chance to meet and introduce myself, it was so hectic all day, but I tried.
Thank you once again, I appreciate the effort of all that attended and supported the event. The first of many to come I hope...
Kind regards,
Jamie Rigby
Japan North Event Organiser.
BTW, can't access the images sadly - don't know if a moderator could sort this out please? ;)

Yeah sorry we seem to have stolen the show. The photographer admitted he'd turned up late, and we always seem to be the last to leave, so I think we were the only club still to have a display.
Thanks again Jamie - see you again soon.
Mike
Hey there everyone,

Thank you to all that attended the show and hope you are all well.
All the best,
Jamie
(P.S. As things develop for next year's Japan North, I will start a new topic.)
