Wow what a show. The Mrs bought me tickets months ago for Aerosmith's new world tour and I was all citeds coz I've never seen them before. Then we found out it wasn't their show but they were part of the Rock Hyde Park Calling - then we found out that they were headlining and had their normal set so all was well especially as it's their only UK gig this year - THEN Mr Jon Bon Jovi announces THEIR only Uk gig this year .... ON THE SAME FOOKIN NIGHT to open the 02. Anyway decided to stick with Aerosmith as senn Jovi loadsa times and I was glad I did.

There were loads of acts on over the weekend, none of whome I really cared for and most I hadn't really heard of but I managed to get myself to the main stage and get a position near the front to see Jet folowed by Chris Cornell then Aerosmith. Jet were ok but very samey but there well known tracks went down well but I must take my hat off for Cornell - formerly of Sound Garden and more recently Audioslave. He's also the guy who did the Casino Royal soundtrack - He was awesome, great performer and seems to have an impressive back catalogue of hits. He has a new fan lol.

Anyway then came the main guys - the dinosaurs of Rock. They should be clinicaly dead by the way they used to live their rock n roll lives but thankfully they straightened out their lives and now I think they're arguably one of the greatest live bands around. The whole of Hyde Park went mental for them and I was so close I coulda sneezed on Steve Tyler and Joe Perry. They opened up with Love In An Elevator and included alot of must haves such as Dream On, Sweet Emotion, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing and Eat The Rich. I think their own set would be longer normaly as alot also didn't make it such as Dude Looks Like A Lady but I loved it all the same. They also bought DMC from Run DMC on as aguest to do Walk This Way as the encore. It was them that re-launched Aerosmith in the 80's after they got their lives in order and it's been onwards and upwards ever since. Great surprise to see him

All in all a great day despite it slashing down and not being that soaked since my 8 mile tab at Purbright !!!!

Did anyone else go tonight or even the 02 to see Jovi ?

I was there. Theres a thread on here about it from earlier in the week.

They were awesome but OMG what an awful awful day. Plus we ended up having to leave before the end to get the train back. Shame. And shame there were so many total pillocks there. Bloke in front of us (bearing in mind there was NO space to move in the crowd) was urinating and guffing constantly, bloke behind us was sticking coke up his nose like his life depended on it, and therefore couldn't stand still so was constantly smashing into us.

Plus 9 hours of standing up, freezing and soaked was a bit much for everyone I was with. Stupid weather.

Bloody hell. Bit eventful. I only had to shove one dick over in the mud all day lol. Twat came barging thru with a train of mates in stood right in front of us stinking like shite and generaly annoying us. We managed to say til the end and catch the train back after a mission of a walk.

I agree the weather as pants but they were worth it. Anyone at Jovi ?

My brother went, said it was great. He even paid for the VIP experience so didn't have to stand with the peasants :D
