think they are molded over the quatres, there was a old thread abt it, they screw them on, then use a bonder to stick them to the car, then take the screws of and start the smoothing/filling, iirc

ud then have to do it on both sides, but the back would look a little funny imo, without the wider front wings and if u did get the front then ud need the skirts and a new front to line up........ and on and on and on:D

Only reason I ask is that someone reversed into rear quater of my car and wanted to check if I could just cut to section away and use the TRD kit

you dont cut you bond over, so a dent doesnt matter its what i did.

However, the TRD route isnt for the faint harted/short of cash.

15 grand later mine still isnt right!!!

Dont get me wrong, its the perfect kit for the supe (IMHO), but if you want to do it, make sure you do your homework because it's a long long way from just a new bumper, skirts and spats.

new wheels means new suspension, (properly big wheels on stock/billies = arch rub n u dont want that)

and youd be asking for trouble sticking with jap brakes with big wheels.

its not just a body kit, its a VERY difficult to fit kit, (rear 1/4s mainly) thats VERY prone to disaster, sinkage/micro bubbles etc etc.

and wide kit = wide wheels, 3k, tyres almost 1k, suspension/brakes, (essential imho), 3k, then kit 3k for a good one from envy, fit and paint 3k. so theres an easy 13k assuming they get it right 1st time.

...and dont count on it, mines been redone/repainted 3 times now and its still not right!

anyone that hasnt had personal experience of fitting one couldnt possibly comprehend the pain! lol

you dont need new suspension to be honest, mines fine on 11.5" wide rears with no rubbing etc and anyone who says they look to narrow is talking crap !! you dont need 13" wide rears

the kit is a nightmare along with most places that fit and paint them, think long and hard before you go down this route, find a specialist 1st and go see there workmanship, i didnt and paid the price for not doing enough research before diving into the widebodykit route

Didn't Envy suggest that they now have a bodyshop that can get it right first time?

I suspect they won't tell us the secret to this but if it's true what has been said about checking out the painter / fitter in advance is very important.

I wouldnt argue they cant get it right 1st time but i'd like to see the car and have a close look at it 6 months later after its been left out on hot sunny days, mines looked superb twice now but after it being painted for the 3rd time a few months later i have some more micro blisters, each time theres less though so perhaps after the 5th repaint it'll be ok ??

12" wheels needed new suspension.

theres very few places in uk that can claim to have experience of fitting a trd wide kit, even envy's place can only really claim to have experience of re-fitting kevs as far as i know, (they may have done more recently, im sure gaz/kev'll comment).

hopefully theyre going to re-do mine also shortly, then they'll have done twice as many trds as anywhere else i know of in uk.

(with the exception of a certain incarcerated supra enthusiast)

the place that did my trd kit for envy and kevs trd kit originally, ...lets just say envy dont use them anymore.

Our latest bodyshop that fitted Kev's and Dave's kit have done great jobs of both. Kev's was refitted when it changed to red about 15 months ago - and its been perfect since.

Its a hard kit to fit right, it needs a lot of prep work, something that most bodyshops don't want to do!

Regards,

Gaz.

there u go, if you want it doing properly talk to Gaz/envy, sounds like their new guys have it sorted.

think the micro bubbling would still potentially happen even if god himself painted the car tho. (its caused by the kit Not the paint as i understand it).

and theres no escaping the 10k+ cost for kit/fit/wheels/paint even if its spot on 1st time.

Gaz, dont forget to pop me a pm/line at some point about my trd issues, no rush though.
