rear lights not working

Got my car back from knight racer today. They had the lights out to put on the rear bumper. So i was out for a drive tonight after not having it for 3 weeks and it gets dark so i flick on the lights. Everything infront of me is fine and i can see where im going... as you might expect. However i head down towards the motorway and i overtake a van (not fast) and i pull infront of him. a good distance ahead and he flashes his lights. i ignore it thinking its a bump in the road he went over. I head off down the motorway and another van flashes at me. I ignore this one, thinking the guy is just being a cock.

I drive arround a bit and a couple of other people flash me. By now im getting a bit concerned. Maybe my bumper is falling off or something, but i have nowhere to stop and i ignore them. i head back up the motorway (passing 2 coppers on the slip road) and lorry drivers are flashing me, 3 or 4 of them. a few cars. Something is definately up but i didnt want to stop on the hard shoulder. So i pull off my exit and pull over at the garage just up the road. and a landrover pulls in behind me.

He has been following me up the motorway. Because he had noticed my lights wernt working, not even the indicators. He had shielded me from the cops all the way (3 points for no rear lights apparently). I tested the lights. front lights all worked. dipped, full, fog, side and indicators (front and side). At the back the only lights that worked were the brake lights (thank god), but no indicators or rear lights or fog light. however the hazards worked fine

So i drove home (was almost home anyway) and tested them again. But this time the indicators worked fine but no rear lights apart from brake.

What do u guys think? fuse gone? My clock had stopped when i got the car back. Or was it because the batery had been out for some reason :S

Anyway im gonna take the lights out tomorow when its light, maybe a connection is loose

I had this problem after having work done there, luckily my mate suggested trying the lights b4 we left and it was all cocked up, changed bulbs in the end as that's why they were out but they had wired one of the lights in backwards too!

I ended up buying a new set of lights off ebay in the end :)

I had a fault with my rear lights recently, and it turned out to be the integration relay in the footwell. Not the main rear lights relay that's visible on the fuse panel, this one was somewhere around there but the mobile auto electritian couldn't find it. All we knew was that when it was bypassed the lights worked :)

Yours is more likely the fuse or loose connector hopefully.
