J-Spec Brakes Rock! (now)

I replaced the Japanese pads (God knows what they were!) for Porterfield Fast Road pads (courtesy of Whifbitz) and today had Goodridge braided hoses put on.

It's like throwing out an anchor when you stamp on the pedal! :D

As an aside, the boot rubbers where replaced and now at last I can drive in a silent interior, no more clunking noises..... except for the lovely exhaust tone :)

I am Nurburgring ready....

nice one :)

j-spec brakes can work ok can't they. I was desperate to put uk spec ones asap and even have callipers in the shed but after fitting some trd pads recently they are more than good enough for the moment. I probably still will do the upgrade sometime but it's less than urgent now :)

What sort of money are braided hoses for j-specs? Reckon my pads need replacing soon and I'd love stronger brakes without bankrupting myself for UKs. Glad to here they work well to, must make a big difference to how you drive if you have a bit more confidence in brakes.

Don't forget that you'll want DOT5.1 fluid as well.

J Spec brakes with braided hoses, good pads and dot5.1 fluid will be fine for the road, but they will show up their inadequacies on a track where if you're doing repeated heavy braking from over 100mph on the track then you might be finding them a bit wanting.

No probs for road use though. :)
