My bet is an air lock in the system.

opened the radiator cap today n there was no water  ... filled in a good 2 litres n topped of the reserve bottle .... + checked my oil level today for the first time since buying the car :/ i know i should have done this the day i got it just been a little busy in work but its going tomorrow for a all fluid change :D ... the oil level was above the high n when i say above i mean pretty much above :/ .... so i drain some oil out of it to bring it to the high level n it turns out it was a whole good 1 litre extra  .... but after all this done i took her for a test drive n its all good now no heating issues n no bubling sounds :) ...

Good to hear you seem to have it sorted, well done ;) Bit of a puzzle that there was no water in it shortly after it was flushed - unless they forgot to refill it!!! Might be worth checking the hoses for splits/bulges/leaks/deterioration anyway, and that none of the clips holding the hoses on are damaged/loose/missing. Keep an eye on it ;)

Feel the rad (carefully) and check for cold spots, if there are any then it's shagged.

Obviously after getting it upto temp.

With the engine off you should be able to stick your hand through the fan to feel...

Just be careful!!
