hey guys i have a 93 tt j spec i noticed my water temp rising slowly 2weeks ago and found the fluid level in the rad had dropped. I noticed a small wet patch on the left hand side of the rad just underneath it on the plastic undertray. I removed the plastic tray looked at the rad from underneath the hose joints were dry but was just wet on the side of the rad. The wetness has now disapeared and hasnt come back but the level of fluid has droped a tiny bit. do you think its leaking from the side of the rad and ive been suggested by a friend to use the fluid which i put in the rad that will automatically cure a leak do you think i shud put that in my rad thanks.

check the rad cap while you are at it

:yeahthat:

A common cause of overheating/fluid loss is an old rad cap leaking pressure from the system; when the pressure drops the fluid boils at a lower temp. Try fitting a new rad cap and see if that cures the fluid loss problem.
