lockys96
Car is in having all air bubbles removed. flow coated, all sides, rear and possibly front resprayed. im getting used to not seeing it around. http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3627/hpim5017kz0.th.jpghttp://img471.imageshack.us/img471/6757/hpim5018qc3.th.jpghttp://img247.imageshack.us/img247/5416/hpim5019yq8.th.jpghttp://img472.imageshack.us/img472/3089/hpim5020nt4.th.jpg also. rear arches are being cut up, after being blended in. not enough gap, = recut metal arch, cut fibreglass fenders, rebuild arches so water tight. Gaz6002
Didn't the bodyshop get it right first time then Si? Which one did you use again?
lockys96
Blimey thats not good, i hope they are rectifying it for free. you must have seen my old thread a while back. the more and more the car sat in the sun, they come through. seems like the kit wasnt laid up very well, i.e gelcoat. but primer has sunk, and so a load of scratches have come through. i having to pay the cost of arch rebuild. the kit was built with an inwards taper at that height, and the rear is on lowest setting on superstreets, and dont want to look cak riding a monster truck... they have taken the car back to rectify the faults, and its not a car you will see everyday. and i think that they will get accross a better company image by doing so. plus ill be at a number of shows
lockys96
Didn't the bodyshop get it right first time then Si? Which one did you use again? no, they blocked and filled the front arches around 4 times. the were some issues with the car on me collecting, however more transpired in the sun. i just hope when it comes back, none of these bubbles come back. ive been waxing my car with meguiars spray wax, and have been getting a weird reaction on the laquer,
Whitesupraboy2
you say about the sinkage of primer, im getting some now. So mine is going to be rectified in a few areas. Ive been reading threads on this forum, its part of the process with wideboy kits, almost everybody with wideboy kits is suffering from it! So i think it will happen no matter what
charlton
ive been waxing my car with meguiars spray wax, and have been getting a weird reaction on the laquer, I was told by a sprayer that you shouldn't wax a newly painted car as the paint underneath is still "wet" and needs to breathe - you should use one without silicone in it I beleive? lockys96
thats exactly what ive been told, although, bodyshop said u can use as long as its not silicone base, need to find out what the meguiars is, there are no ingreediants on the product. silicone is normally cheap based wax, so not sure
