Anyone else on here going this weekend? I'm off tomorrow for my 4-night camping extravaganza :friday: Big thanks to JohnK for supplying me with a tent!

I'm supposed to be packing but I'm on here and watching the Apprentice instead :)

Haven't actually looked at the lineup in the last month or so, but I recall there being a couple of well known bands going :d

Mate I went last year and you'll have an absolutely blinding time. One of the best organized festivals I have ever been too. Hot showers and good facalities.

Advice
1) Take a wheel barrow or some thing with wheels to wheel your stuff from the car park to the campsite. Its a good walk about 1.5 miles all up hill. :(

2) Camp as close to the main path ways as poss, if poss camp right next to the road.

3) Quite a few tents got burgled last yr so keep all you cash wit u at all times. Wot we did is hide most of our valuables under the spear wheel. And only keep what we needed at all times (money, camera, car key & phone (switched off for most of the festival)).

4) Lastly the food the awful and expensive so if u can drive out, it'll be allot cheap or take snacks.

Apart from that you'll have a blinding time, lots of fit fanny about :d

I was gonna go to it again, but going Glastonbury instead, can't handle 2 festivals back to back :(

Last year was my first year at the Isle of Wight. Prodigy and Foo Fighters were absolutely awesome. Really looking forward to it this year!!

They had showers last year? Where? Me and my mates looked for some but we couldn't find any :search: (well, 10 mins looking for a sign to direct us counts as searching in our books!)

We live in Southampton so we're not driving - getting the booze cruise Red Funnel tomorrow afternoon to kick start the weekend. Also means I'm going to keep all my things on me at all times as no spare wheel to hide stuff under :( Does kinda suck having to carry your phone at all times when it's switched off for 90% of the time!

A couple of tents near us got burgled, but they were all near the paths. We were glad we weren't actually! It was a complete nightmare trying to climb over peoples guylines when drunk and it's pitch black, but for us it was a small sacrifice. To be fair though, we didn't get much say in our pitches - it was the only space we found big enough to fit all out tents in a vague circle!

We just went and spent £120 on food and beer in Asda, so we're ready and prepared for the over priced, below par quality food!

I just hope I spend less time this year drunk out of my mind and that I can appreciate the atmosphere some more!
